Dongle vs rooted phone
 

So if it is relatively easy to root a phone, and there are more (cheaper) options vs a dongle/3g or 4g wifi hotspot, why wouldnt you root a phone and get unlimited data vs capped on a hotspot? What are the advantages and disadvantages? I am looking at getting a virgin phone on the 35 plan and rooting it purely for a hotspot for ebay.

Actually as of right now there is a method to root a Verizon Mifi to unlimited data for around $10/month so as of right now I'm using this method.

1 problem that can arise with phone tethering or Dongles is IP ranges.

How do you get the 10/month package? Do you have a link for how to root it?

I only get 4G in one part of the apartment. I bought a Virgin Mobile MiWi adapter, I put it in the 4G area and I connect to it via Wifi.

I didn't go the rooting camp because of that.

Anyone have that rooting info on the verizon wimax?

I just purchased one on ebay $98 and first 2 mouths paid for after that it's prepaid $15 unlimited data a month Verizon , can't beat that however I have had issues when tethering or just using as a hotspot that never had before so not totally secure for stealth I think because I was using it to log into a newer paypal few weeks ago and paypal was limited, all I did was log in and put two micro deposits and received an email saying unusual activity occurred ur account may be hacked log in change question and password, than I logged in and needed to upload utility bill, they lifted the restriction quickly but I also received a few security questions using that on ebay to relist they wanted to call or send email, and on that same Paypal was asked to call from a phone associated with my address , I never had these issues and definitely feel its from that ashes mifi

@DmShark, I use my Mifi with an actual cable and not as a hotspot. I also use the Verizon software to connect to the internet.
