Huawei HG655d modem need to change ip in Netherlands
 

Hi.

I really need to change the ip at the place I am renting.

The modem is a Huawei HG655d.

I have access to all the setting ect. but have not found a way to change the ip.

I tried powering off for a few minutes, playing around with lease times and also reset the modem with no avail.

I think the connection is dynamic because in the one of the setting there is an option that says DCHP and static and it is on static.

Not too sure who the isp provide is though as the net came with the rental property, but I have full access to the modem setting page.

Any help would be great.

It can't be Dynamic if on the modem settings say's "static".

Sorry, my mistake. I meant to say the setting is on DCHP not static

You should find out who the provider is, very important. For example here in the US there are some Providers who are Dynamic and yet it takes an act of GOD to get a new IP, which is why most go to using Dongles, MIFI's etc.

I went to https://apps.db.ripe.net/search/query.html that website, some sort of RIPE database search (not too sure what that means) and put in my ip address and it told me this:

netname: WANADOO-NL-ADSL-FAMILY
descr: Wanadoo NL ADSL Customers with static addresses
country: NL

So I am taking it that I am on static :(

I am using a dongle here in The Netherlands so my stealthing is working, it was just that it would have been fun to use the free internet at the apartment I am renting if only it was dynamic. Oh well.

Well you can always use the static internet with 1 Account.
