Question for the IP savy
 

Quick IP question. After comcast wouldnt help me renew my IP i found a way to renew it online from another forum dedicated to IP talk. It acually worked, it changed my whole IP adress and my Default Gateway but what it didnt change was the Subnet Mask...that one stayed exactly the same. Can ebay now still link me due to having the same subnet mask or as long as my ip adress is changed i should be all set?

I notice that the first two numbers are still the same. Is this a problem?

You're fine, your IP address is all that matters. And as long as just one digit changes, that's all you need.

Let me give you a little search tip to make things easier (I think it's easier, anyway). Try using Google to search for more in depth answers to your questions. Using Google to search the aspkin forum allows you to use all the nifty Google parameters like quotation marks, plus and minus signs, and the like.

For instance - Google search (using the site: parameter): site:aspkin.com +change +IP +Comcast
