IP/MAC Question

I currently have 3 Stealth accounts created and working fine. However,
I sometimes run into a issue where my ISP will not connect when changing between Router MAC's, sometimes it takes a day or so to finally work. But it always lets me use my original router MAC that was used on my banned eBay account.

It has been about a week since I had to use the original MAC address so my IP has changed, and is not any IP that has been linked to the banned account.

My question is can eBay in any way see my Router MAC and link me that way?

Is it safe to log into one of my other accounts (on a different windows user) with this IP even though the Router MAC address is the same as the Banned eBay account?

Any insight would be much appreciated, I need to print out a few shipping labels on one of my accounts, but cant get that router MAC to connect right now.

Thanks,

Re: IP/MAC Question

Based on your description, it seems, you are using a router that is connected to a cable modem. Please confirm, thanks.

Re: IP/MAC Question

Nope.

MAC addresses only exist over Ethernet, MACs are irrelevant over the internet. If eBay wanted to track your MAC then they'd have to actually ask you for it and type it in. They've got no way of knowing it.

If they tried to 'detect it' it would require the installation of software, and such tracking would kick up so many security issues your security software / browser will actively block it the whole site.

Pretty much what is visible to you is visible to them: You can see their IP(s) and the route there, likewise they can see yours.

Yes, it is through Comcast Cable, using a Netgear Router.

Okay, with Comcast, you need to change MAC address on router. When you save your changes, most routers will then take a while to get a new WAN IP.

To complete this, reboot the modem and you are done. When the modem boots up, your router will get a WAN IP and very likely new based on the MAC address assigned.

Yes, I do all of that. Sometimes when I change the MAC on the router (reset modem and do everything to properly) it will not connect to the internet, I have to revert back to the original MAC on the router. but other times I can change the MAC multiple times and it works with no problem, other times it only works on 1 MAC address. I think Comcast must do something on their end.
