Verizon Mifi randomly changing IP while in use

After reading the other thread that someone was experiencing the same thing with AT&T mifi, I decided to try adding another device to run at the same time, as advised in that thread. Didn't work. I have been testing it since 8:30 this morning, and as of 1pm today it has changed twice. Roughly about every 1.5 to 2.5 hrs.

What happens if it randomly changes to an IP already used on another account? Is that enough to link?

Hard to say if that change alone will link you to another account but if you have timed the IP change then I guess the only thing you can do is monitor your IP often when you log in.

How do I change the timeout on my Verizon MiFi SCH-LC11

Open a browser and enter http://192.168.1.1 (default password: The password XXXXX XXXXX 7-14 of your IMEI number on the verizon mifi device. If the IMEI number is “123456789012345”, the password XXXXX “78901234”).

Go to 'Configuration', then 'Power', then select a "time" and change settings.

I hope this helps!

Thank you for this info! I followed the steps above, but I didn't have 'Configuration' only 'Config file' (which didn't have anything that I was looking for). I did find 'Power' under the advanced tab, when I click on that it says 'When on battery power, the MiFi® device can automatically shutdown when idle (no Wi-Fi activity)' there is a drop down box and you can choose how many minutes (between 2 and 60 minutes) or never. I chose 'never', however when using the mifi I have been keeping it plugged in and not on battery power, and the IP is switching while I am on the computer.

I have the 4510 jetpack. Maybe it is a problem with the device?

You did the right thing by selecting "never". You can stream music from an online radio and see if you get disconnects. What is the subnet mask of the WAN connection, they may be having very few IPs and set the lease too short.
