You only really need to mess around with spoofing your mac address to obtain a new PUBLIC IP. This means the IP that your router grabs from your internet provider. Especially on a router you have 2 options. 1, to use the clone mac address option, or 2, get a new router. Again, it all depends on your internet provider. Is the IP stored in the router itself, or is the IP in the modem or wireless radio on your roof, or somewhere else?
