Changing IP Address Automatically??

I have DSL and I have to change my IP address manually by unplugging the modem, router, etc. Is there any way to can have my IP address change automatically when I shutdown my PC with DSL without having to unplug it everytime? Thanks. :)

Do you change the IP on both the computer and router?

I unplugg everything and I make sure I go to What Is My IP Address? - Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more... to make sure it changes. Why would the IP address be different on my PC & router?

Because they are two different pieces of hardware.
Why doesn't my machine's IP address match what I'm told on the internet? - Ask Leo!
It looks like your broadcasting the IP of your router. By unplugging it and plugging it back in, your router gets assigned a new IP. I, personally, don't know of a way to automate that.

If you release your IP from your CPU, and unplug everything. Maybe that could work.

ipconfig /release in cmd prompt

IP changing

For those with RR or CLWR modems, I can probably help you out a lot with ip's. As most know by now, keeping the same ip is safer than switching ip's everyday as you will have to log what ips you accessed everyday for every account. Well, I spoke to RR and CLWR tech support and they told me that you cannot pick and choose the ip's you are assigned. I talked to tech supports as well as the manager of the tech support team. However, without telling them it is possible, I beg to differ what I was told. I just was just asking them because I recognized what I was doing was not working 100% of the time, but was pure coincidence that it happened. But I figured out why I was able to do it 40% of the time.

What I am trying to say basically is, you can choose what ip you want for what account its for. So say you have 10 accounts going, it would be very inconvinient to have a log of all the ip's for all 10 accounts that change everyday. The solution is to keep 1 ip for 1 account all the time. If you would like to know, pm me. I feel safer with pm as only its not public and i don't want RR or CLWR to fix the problem.
