IP Address keeps rotating between specific 5 addresses! Need Help! :(
 

Hi,
I am new to Stealth account and want some help with changing IP.

I am in Canada and I have Acanac internet and Mobilicity as cellphone carrier.

Attempts to Change IP:
Home Internet (Have Dynamic IP):
1) I tried turning off my home router and modem for few minutes and restarted and got the same IP every time! Tried this few times.
2) Tried going in to router settings and click on Release IP and restarted the modem and rounter, got the same IP!

Mobile Tethering:
1) Tried turning off the phone and starting it again after few minutes, checked the IP by typing "Whats my ip" in google. Did this about 50 times. and got the same 5 IPs back!! Only difference between these IPs are last 1 or 2 digits. So all other numbers are same and in the end I only got 5 different minor different IP.

But that's what it keeps getting back to! Only those 5 ips, tried it about 100 more times. Same 5 IPs.

Am I doing something wrong? Why my ip is not changing even using tethering option! And yes, I am connected to Mobile Network for data and not to wifi.

Any help will be appreciated.

Look into getting a dongle if your ISP and the tethering is not working.

So if from your home connection you are checking your IP using something like this and got the same ip back... you are not under a dynamic ip service.

If you did run several tests with your cell phone for tethering and got no more than 5 ips aailable... then your pool of ips for thethering is very limited... nothing you did was wrong.

Either you change your home ISP to have a proper dynamic IP service or you go the route JamesNorth101 said... get a dongle for internet connection.

Thanks guys. Actually I have cable Internet and so IP lease is very long (in weeks if not months) for even dynamic IPs. So, I found a solution after trial and error, MAC spoofing on router level works like a charm. I tested it about 5 times and got all totally different IPs and I am pretty sure my home Internet ISP would have way larger IP pool than 5 IPs so I should be good.

Another question,

Any solution like this available for Mobile tethering? Buying dongle in Canada is very expensive! (About $50-$70/month + cost of device)
