Century Link DSL with Linksys E1200 Router
Equipment: Zyxel PK5001Z Router and modem combo, Linksys E1200 Router
I have been trying to get my DSL to retain the same IP address associated with a MAC address but have yet to figure it out. DHCP reservations are for a day so I know most of the time I would get the same IP.
I can change my IP just by releasing and renewing my connection so I know its dynamic but I have a fairly small IP pool so I was hoping I could reuse IPs more often rather than get a new one.
Am I way off base here? Do I need a cable connection for that to work or does DSL also based an IP address on Mac Address? |
