Accidently logged into my accout through an IP address

Just moved into a new apartment. haven't had time to setup new IP address for my account. I was just using the room mates internet in the mean time for general purpose things, not ebay related. I accidently clicked on on a bookmark for ebay and it had me logged in. When I spoke to him before, he said he had used ebay. Don't know how long it's been. Will I have issue?

One off should be fine. Just be more careful in the future :thumb:

I mean, I didn't get a chance to logoff of ebay, because I just exited out with no internet connection. I exited firefox. And even restarted my computer. Who the hell knew that ebay would still be logged in lol

It would not matter if you are logged in or not, the cookies would be enough to identify your computer and accounts

You cannot for example go onto eBay on your laptop on someone else's internet if their IP has already been used on eBay for their own account. It will potentially link the accounts though eBay cookies. Logging out of eBay does not stop eBay being able to read the cookies already stored on your laptop when you are on their site. You can use your laptop on their internet so long as you do not go onto eBay or any eBay owned companies.

Where in the thread did the OP say he was even remotely interested in creating more accounts?

Nowhere.

He wants advice about an occurrence that is giving him grief.

Here's a surprise for you. Not all users want to have multiple accounts.
