Using a dongle to change IP address
 

Currently have a t mobile dongle however when unplugging and plugging it back in my IP address stays the same. Assuming if I was to drive a mile or so out I would get a changed ip address however this is not convenient for daily use.

If I was to purchase a £7.50 gigabag from giffgaff and put the sim into the t mobile dongle would this change my IP address?

Then I can flip flop between the t mobile sim and the giffgaff sim in the dongle

If any one could help me out here or has any suggestions would be much appreciated

Driving out 1 mile wont help, I driven out 12 miles and same ip's.

If you got tmobile dongle, you should have lots of different ip's when you connect/disconnect, even from the same location.

Instead of pulling out dongle and putting back in, try using the connect/disconnect button from the main dongle screen.

If you cant find the main dongle screen, type 192.168.1.1 in you browser and it should come up.

Also, in the settings for the dongle, there is a setting for auto re-connect. Ideally, untick this so you if you get disconnected, it wont re-connect with a different ip address without you knowing..... you also might want to untick the auto connect at startup.

Using the disconnect/connect button on the dongle home screen does not see, to change the IP address, if you know any way to change a t mobile dongle ip address it would be great and would save me £7.50 a month on buying a new sim

I know a few years back Three network had the best deal in uk. get a usb dongle + 1gb for 20 pounds and then top up when you need. IP changes every time you click disconnect/connect. :)

I use a T-mobile hotpost (in the US) and it can be difficult to get a new IP but this always works for me: if your PC/laptop has an "airplane mode" setting, turn it on (if not, just go into your network settings and disable your WiFi connection - that does the same thing). And disconnect/turn off the dongle or hotspot. Wait about 3-5 minutes, turn everything back on and you should get a new IP.
