cant change ip address with ebay stealth guide,not working! help
 

ok so i tried the step by step for release and renew ip address i have an ethernet cable plugged right into my desktop computer.i tried the steps about 3 times and them went to ipburger.com and its exactly the same.and then there is another way to do it with spoof your mac address but the link isnt there anymore.any help here guys is much appreciated thank you

What is your current setup?

Do you have modem with router, a combo modem/router?

Who is your provider, are you certain you have dynamic ip through your isp?

Need more details from you.

thanx for the response i have a cable modem and im plugged directly into it with an ethernet cable and i have rcn digital cable im not sure about having a dynamic

With a cable modem search the forum, lots of posting on how to change IP address.

It is easier to have a router connected to the modem than spoofing the Mac Address of the computer for newbies.

Right.. I would suggest a 3rd party router in which you can easily change it's MAC address otherwise you'll need to change (spoof) your computer's MAC address.

It's probably easier just to get a cheap $20-$30 router though.

thanx guys do you recommend any routers ones that are easiest to use and install.im not that tech savvy just want to do this easiest as possible thanx again

Any cheap little router should work fine. It's just important that you can access the admin area to change it's MAC address. And 99% of the ones I have tried allow this.

Netgear routers , look for ones that it says has netgear genie , it's just a function that will guide you through router settings , and will make things easier for a newer user

You may benefit a lot from a hotspot , if you are really not familiar with working a computer

It depends where you live but I think Verizon Hotspots have great service and large IP pool .

This is another way to change IPs and may be easier for you if you have trouble getting into your router settings, PM me if you need any help changing your IP through your router

Just to reiterate Dmshark's comment on Netgear...they work superb on changing MACs (as many other routers do).

I have the Netgear N600 and it works brilliantly. You just need to go to router login webpage and there is an option to change the MAC under Basic Settings.

I can assign MAC addresses with certain accounts and retain IP addresses for months at a time. This however, varies with your ISP and their DHCP lease time.

I have the same router Netgear N600, and I found it a lot easier to Navigate than the cheaper routers, and I been retaining the same IPs as well for months at a time

Best $60 investment and works perfectly for stealth. What's not to like :thumb:

I use a Belkin N450DB.

What I like most with this router, when you change mac and reboot, a message appears telling me to reboot the modem to save your changes. As soon as I reboot the modem, I get a green light and a new IP.

Since everyone has recommended something to use, I have to warn you about the newest Linksys firmware routers. THey still work when changing macs -> IP

however it's rather hidden and it's not as easy nor fast anymore. So unless you upload a custom firmware to this specific router built in 2013-2014, don't spend your money on them even if they look pretty.

i will definitely looking into the netgear n600 any other routers you recommend or dont recommend?ive seen some belkins for cheap i just need a simple and easy one to change the ip

I have been using a Belkin $39 from Walmart for one year without a glitch. Very easy to use.

Does the Belkin you use change / saves the MAC fast ?

I notice that some routers especially the one I mention above will tend to hand or just take forever for it to save.
