my MAC address is hardwired into my router
 

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes: I'm buying a stealth account but ran into a roadblock. I accessed my router and my MAC address is hardwired into the router. It's Comcast Xfinity router and I can't clone the MAC address to change the IP so ebay will see its still the same IP address.

Can't release the IP, can't clone the MAC. What do I do?

good you have comcast

your mac cannot be hardwired into your router in your router go to mac cloning and just change the last two digits and unplug power from ur router and modem

just so you know not every router has the mac cloning setting maybe thats an issue with yours

Yeah I searched every option in the router and there is no way to change the MAC. Its an xfinity router

Call up and get a MODEM only. Use your own router. Model model is a Arris CM820 Just had one installed today.

get ur self a motorola cable modem than a router asus Linksys netgear tplink all good brands

once u got ur cable modem call them and have them registered they will ask you its mac

I stepped out a few hours the other day and came home to find a new router/modem all in one from xfinity

If you go on there website u can find a list of approved modems , you will want to check that before u buy one

I have the triple play, so that factors in to what modem I needed, not all come with that phone jack, so be aware of that, if you have phone service with them u will need a telephony modem

I purchased the Arris 722g I think and it's on there approved list for the service I have

Surprisingly I just changed out wires, un plugged everything from there modem and right into mine and did this while I had them on the phone , they sent a code thru after asking for a couple numbers and everything went back to normal

I have a netgear N600 router and Arrris 722g Telephony Modem,

I purchased the modem from Amazon it was delivered the next day, brand new it is $225 but I found a refurbished and it looks brand new , everything was there , all new cables and battery with overnight shipping was only $80

get your own modem and router, first off with your own modem youll save $$ on your modem lease every month....and go with an arris motorola surfboard 6141 gets downspeeds of 300mbps and id go with a high model router i use an asus rt-n66r (you can set up cloud system on this and also your your own vpn as well as many many other awesome features) definitely get a high quality router though it is important...having a good router will allow you to change your mac quickly and productively mine takes 1minute 14 seconds to fully complete

Another option would be to simply get a VPN or VPS
