Can't Change my Cable Modems IP
 

I have time warner cable and i have been trying to change the modem ip address, I've tried swapping out wireless routers that doesn't work. Ive tried changing the MAC address i can't do that i have even contacted TW to see how to change the ip they say i cannot because the ip address is assigned to the modem. It is a dynamic ip address so what do i do know ?

...easy way out... get an internet USB key (dongle) and connect with that one for your stealth acounts.
You will easily get different IP addresses. Extra cost but much easyer life.

Hello, another member suggested the same thing because the IP address issue confuses me a lot, I see many on Amazon...is there a particular brand you suggest? Or will the cheapest one work? I'm sorry, but I am not technical in the slightest.

I have time warner cable. The secret to this is make sure you have the BASIC internet modem/ DO NOT

I repeat DO NOT use the high end Router/Modem package.


Once you have the basic modem you can adjust the mac address.
or even swap routers.

Not familiar with US internet dongles.
I wouldn't buy the cheapest just because I would like it to be reliable but I do not think there is a big difference from one to another.

Or can always use VPN/VPS if can't figure out a way to change your modem's ip
