IPV4 vs IPV6?...

I've subscribed to a VPS server. It came with 1 IP Address, 1 IPV4 address and 1 IPV6 address. (Anyone knows the difference???) I have the option of paying a monthly fee for each new IPV4 address, or I can create my own new IPV6's for free.

Can anyone please dumb down my options to me? I've no idea if creating new IPV6's would do any good.

Mila

IPV6 Has a better internet speed then IPV4 does and there is a difference in the bit

No it doesn't. That's not how IPv6 vs IPV4 works.

IPv6 is just another IP encoding to replace the currently used IPv4 encoding. They have no speed differences. IPv6 has to be created because the all the possible combinations of IPv4 has been assigned and exauhsted and won't last for much longer in the future. Currently, most websites and computers still uses IPv4, because the transition is still very early in the stages.

eBay and Paypal only supports IPv4 connections, so having IPv6 addresses won't allow you to connect to ebay at all.

Spot on explanation, ipv6 is not yet supported by most sites, so no point of using it just yet, it is the future however
