Couple of IP concerns..

Hi everyone.

I'd like to put across a couple of concerns i have with regards to IPs.

Firstly, i'm using a Huawei Mifi on the network 3.
I seem to be getting 512 unique IPs looking at the current pattern.

Stupidly when I first started stealth it didn't come to my mind that an IP used on account A1 can be re-used as long as its re-used on account A1. Therefore because I operate 4 stealths I've been using 4 times as many IPs as I've needed to (once i've run out of IPs)

I've now used around 250 IPs so I'm getting old IPs roughly 1 in 2 attempts.

My question is should I continue with the provider 3 until the point i've used the majority of IPs then when I change provider log the IPs with regard to account so I get more use out of the provider?

Or am i missing something? My only option is a dongle as there is no telephone line where I am based.

Also what determines my IP? I'm assuming each provider is set a range however does location also come into it? Depending on which 3 antenna I'm feeding off?

Does the MiFi device have any say?

All replies are appreciated hugely!

Re: Couple of IP concerns..

Im using a HUAWEI 02 Dongle.

I am up to about 3000 unique IPs....stick with the provider or buy a new data SIM and it should pick up new IPs, does mean spending more money though.

If I get an account A1 and log the IP, if I get that same IP again, I still won't login to account A1 with it, I like to have a fresh IP each time.

(Logging into the account A1 with the same IP is fine by the way, I just choose not to)

There will be a lot more than 512 unique IPs :) It will be tens of thousands.

1 in 2 repeated IPs is pretty high though, may it may be a good idea to swap over to another network.

Re: Couple of IP concerns..

Thanks for the quick reply fellas.

Currently the IPs are in the form XX-XX-(248-249)-(0-256). There was a period where it changed completely but only for a day or two. Been like this for the past couple of months.

The MiFi is the Huawei E587 (not sure if this makes much difference)

My sim is a data sim with 3. 10GB for £15 (30 day contract)

Just had a thought: Would re-setting the MiFi help at all?

Re: Couple of IP concerns..

I have the same mifi device by the sound if it on 3 as well and get same IP address every time I use it, the sim in it is supposed to last for 3 months, will I be able to top this sim up or will I need to buy another?, I have a feeling it cannot be topped up so I would have to buy another which would probably give me new IP addresses. Most sims can be topped up can't they so then I wouldn't have any concerns about suddenly having new IP addresses, have not started listing on the relevant ebay account yet.

Just try to avoid overlapping of IPs across accounts
