Strange IP Address

So I just started using my Verizon Mifi Device that arrived today, and I'm getting these super long, strange IP addresses. For example,

2600:1009:b162:71f6:a05c:5b20:b971:60e2

Anyone else have these?

This is IPv6. Seems they give IPv6 now by default to everyone in their local network.

Yeah that's ipv6, perhaps see if you can change a setting to get it to use only ipv4

It goes back and forth from IPv6 and IPv4. It's weird. I looked through the settings but ill check again. Does is really matter though? I'm still gettin a different IP every time.

It does not matter what IPv6 you have, as EB / PP does not have IPv6 connectivity, and all traffic goes through a IPv6 -> IPv4 gateway. So your real-world IPv4 may turn out to me the same all the time. Careful!

your MAC address may be smooshed inside your IPv6 address. in terms of OPSEC, it's a no-no, bruuh.

Just changed the LAN setting on my jetpack. Now getting IPv4 IP address.
