If we lose connection on wifi using VPN will affect when signal comes back

If we are using our normal internet signal, what happens if we lose signal while using VPN and comes back again.

1- Will the VPN disconnect and won't allowed the system connect to my normal IP

2 - Or will the computer connect to the VPN

3- Or does the computer connect to my wifi directly?

Im afraid that if #3 happens i will get linked since the window will be open if this happens.

The VPN disconnects with your Wifi. When wifi is restored you have to reconnect to VPN. Just keep the connection status open at all times, and you will notice if the connection goes down.

Weak internet can make your VPN drop. Use a system to help prevent this. Also a weak internet connection can leak your real IP under some conditions.

I personally will not use a VPN if the service is weak or sometimes sporadic.

Agree with you,yankee.

Imperative to be aware of the quality of the internet service before adding any emblishments.

Heart stopping to realize a VPN has dropped and a real IP might have been
logged.

You can turn off the wifi access OP - and monitor the VPN in case it drops

How does that help? Broadband streaming in will still automatically connect during a VPN drop.

It sounds like they are using a mifi or tethering for internet. That is not idea for VPN IMO.

Dongle keeps more hours online without a problem.

#3 Happened to me on my eettsy stealth. My vpn connection dropped and connected automatically to my wifi. I'd go the safe route and use a dongle.

That's strange, but if your having trouble getting it to work theres also software you can get that will close the browser if vpn disconnects such as vpn check pro or vpn watcher

Re: If we lose connection on wifi using VPN will affect when signal comes back

Can do a similar strategy on XP:

1) Go to your internet properties, Connections tab. You should see your VPN listed in the list of connections - at the bottom is LAN settings, which are the default settings when the VPN is not connected. Click this button.
2) Check "use a proxy" and enter random numbers (i.e. 154.457.54.48) and you can leave "bypass proxy server for local addresses" UNchecked. What will happen is if your VPN gets disconnected, it reverts back to this setting - which, of course, goes to a proxy that does not exist. So, you can leave your browser up all the time and never worry about your VPN disconnecting - when it does, you won't have internet. Once you reconnect to VPN, your browser starts working again (no close/reopen necessary).
3) Go to VPN settings and 'make sure "Idle time before hanging up" is Never and redial happens instantly over and over if it disconnects.

thank you, it works for VPN L2TP/IPSec, not for VPN based on client.
