verizon hotspot mifi
 

I am newbie on stealth. Say if I don't turned off the mifi hotspot and my laptop, would that make my ip address 'static'? If so, how long does Verizon renew an ip address? Anyone doing it this way?

Been doing a test, as long as your laptop stays on, and the mifi is charged, you keep the same ip. if either turn off, you get a new one

Your IP address should change every time you turn the hotspot off and then back on. Turning your laptop on and off doesn't affect your IP address.

With the Verizon Mifi (i am using one now) your IP is "leased" from DHCP (Verizon) for a period of 24 hours per login. The Mifi will usually change IP addresses when you turn it off and back on, BUT BE CAREFUL as they don't always release and renew IP. The advantage with the Mifi and stealth though is that it IS dynamic IP addressing. The real goal with stealth is to not login to different stealth accounts with the same IP. its OK to have different IP addresses when logging in to eBay/PP. You really have to consider that a great number of people use either Mifi or phone tethering to gain access to the internet these days (more and more all every day). So with that in mind it is reasonable to have changing addresses as long as you dont use the same IP addresses on different accounts as this will cause linking, and account problems. Many people here use a excel spreadsheet to keep track of IP addresses and the accounts they have been used on. Good luck as you learn stealth and gain experience. I highly recommend that you read the stealth guide (no i dont have a stake in profit in the guide)and plunder through this forum as a resource. Ask questions when in doubt. :croc:

I'm able to leave my mifi on but if my laptop powers down at all, the IP address changed. It's weird. I write every IP address I use down in my notepad that has all of my math for profit margins etc.

Yes, if you notice, usually if you leave the Mifi on for over a day it will disconnect and reconnect at the least little opportunity. If you ever really look, you may be shown connected for XXX duration, then a closer look shows IP has changed. I set my accounts to not connect to internet automatically, that way i see the disconnect and register the new IP in my log.

On another note, i use excel to log IP addresses used and on what accounts. It's really so much faster than manually writing them down. But...that's just me.:ballchain:

On another note OP. Make sure you are looking at your Mifi internet IP address, and not the IP assigned to the laptop by the Mifi.:boink:
