How much of an IP address change is needed?
 

Hi everyone
I managed to change my ip address from lets say 12.345.67.127 to 12.345.67.71 the first 7 number are the same but the last changed. Is that enough to stealth ebay? Thanks for the help!!

as long as it is not the same number. Just 1 off is fine.

I agree with Yankee but if possible, try to get less similar. You can never be too safe.

That can be enough for stealth OP but look at trying to get a large range of IP if you can...so many options exist

Most IP pools will only have the last numbers changing regularly often by only two like what you found. In order to do what rsot is suggesting you would need a different provider most likely and that is not at all needed.

It will be fine, unless for example ebay are studying and comparing 2 similar accounts, then they will take ip and other factors into consideration

I used to have Virgin Hub and I changed my IP address by changing MAC address in the settings. The IP range was so, so random and big- They looked nothing like one another.

Now I'm on EE Mifi and the only thing that changes is the last 3 digits... I've had it for 3 months or so and I've never had any problems between all of my accounts.

SO, I have to agree with others- As long as you have a different number, it seems to be fine.

im considering to buy one of those mifi routers, you need only to restart it to get ip changed?

Umm... YES, however:

If you have multiple accounts, I would look into VPN rather than Mifi device.

MIFI is super good, I have no bad words about it- Solid service, foolproof concept and so on. I run around 10 accounts and I have to admit that sometimes it can be rather frustrating at times.
I actually had less wasted time when I was changing MAC address on my Virgin Hub, in all honesty.

You don't get a new IP every time, you sometimes have to wait 5-10 minutes to get a new IP. I've had times where I rebooted the device 2 solid hours and it was switching between two IPs and not pulling a new one.

So if you have multiple accounts, lets say over 5, perhaps look into VPN just from a time saving point of view.
If you run only few accounts and you are just starting out, I would go with MiFi.

Actually- If you have both, its super good. Kind of perfect way to connect to VPN and you are versatile enough to get different IPs if you have the need.

thanks mate, for now im only have one stealth acc for amazon and im using cheap chinese android phablet, but now i discovered Virtual machine.
But whats the difference between that mifi router and for example my spear phone? i can tether my phone data the same? or it has some difference?
