IP Address doesn't change after changing MAC
 

Hello, I've been trying to change my IP address using the MAC address settings. I changed some of the numbers in the MAC Address and reconnected the modem and router, but the IP stayed the same.

Also of note is the MAC address for the WAN changed, but the MAC address for the LAN is still the same. Does this have anything to do with it, and would a different router help? Thanks.

Also my IP is Dynamic so I don't think that would be the problem in this case.

Hey did you get it fixed? I was just going to buy a cheap $25 router

Not all ISP let you change your ip addresses so easily, some are static, if static would need to either change ISP or use a different method such as dongle, mifi, VPN, VPS, etc

Router swapping doesn't always work, there are a lot of easier methods....VPN, Phone Tethering, Mifi/Dongle, Dialup.

Do you know if your ISP provides static or dynamic IPs? Because if it is static the IP won't change.
