Datacenter vs. Residential IP Proxies: Your Complete Guide
I tried to copy paste here an article about residential and datacenter ip proxies, which I just finished writing. But pasting it here ruins all formatting. Sorry guys for giving a link but it would be too tedious to format all over again. For your convenience here's a TL;DR version:
IP address reveals more information than you may have thought. All IP address ranges belong to either ISP (Internet Service Providers) or Datacenters (DCs). Home connections have IP addresses from ISP. Servers, VPN servers and proxy servers have IP addresses from Datacenters.
Websites can distinguish between ISP and DC addresses. It is also sometimes possible to distinguish between VPN and proxy connections. Because DC addresses are often used for nefarious purposes, such connections are subject to bigger scrutiny.
There are multiple pros and cons to each type of connection, all outlined in detail in the article.

Any questions welcome
