Adding PayPal (2nd account) many issues
 

Hello - - is anyone home?

Don't know much. My multiple calls to PP or EBay results in different answers to same questions - Have existing EB account with good rating on purchase only activity that is linked to 'personal' PP a bank checking account.

Want to start selling on a new acct. Im not a business. I Need to manage selling activity in separate bank accounts from purchase activity.
While in the midst of opening a PP 'business', (as my second account) a PP agent advised me that if activity was low to just open a personal account. Not completing the business account, I later called back and had it cancelled and opened a second 'personal' pp account, (with plans on joining it to a new EB account).

Therefore I currently have: (the previous)-1EB acct linked to a Personal PP -linked to a checking acct. AND I have the newly opened Personal PP account linked to a different email, different bank, same profile info/phone, address, ets.

In all the confusion - seemed to overlook PP preference that accounts cannot be two of the same - that one has to be business and one has to be personal . . One PP agent said if the selling activity was low and random and does not mimic that of a business the personal account would be fine.

Q:
Which account s/b set up 1st - EB or PP
Can above scenerio* (second personal PP account) be done without issue?
If not, why & How to fix
As well as what is best advised, Plan "A", "B", "C".
As well, Do I only have one last shot with PP to set up this second account due to this described chain of events.

Are there EB / PP discrepancy or compatibility issues with having the two accounts set up as described above or would linking issues between the two ebay accounts exist that I need be aware of ?

Seems so complicated when only trying to empty out and downsize a garage collection/antiques after 67 years but still keeping the pastime. Thus wanting the Ebay accounts separated along with the two bank accounts :rant:

Any feedback that can be provided is very, very greatly appreciated. Have never posted in a forum before and not sure I'm doing this correctly.

I can stand only in your last point as for above ones there are more experts than me to reply i guess .

For practical reasons try to avoid so long term and cofusing questions in forums.
People "hate" them and just postpone threads/posts like this for an other next one easier get involved to read or reply.

Thanks for the advice Greakf3ea.k. I'll Zoom in on the basic questions rather than explain the scope.

Can a second personal PayPal account be opened and the two personal accounts be active at the same time?

pros/cons ~ why / why-nots . . . .

Alternative recommendations?

Ppl rule says that on exact same personal details you can have up to 1 personal and 1 business account.

However if you want 2 ppl pers accts you can have 2 . one on your details and one on your wife's name -for example- handled by you .

If you want to do normally things and not shady ones this wouldnt be a problem.

Advantage of 2 different ppl accounts is that you can establish 2 totally different ebay accounts each one attached to a separated paypal.

However there is a strong possibility if you are handling these 2 from same ip / pc to be linked.
So in the case that 1 of them something will go wrong and fall appart then will fall apart also the next one .

So must be carefull at all your steps.

I suggest you to read/subscribe on the stealth book as is a MUST to understand everything properly.
However you can spend some days reading tons of infos here in forum and to understand better about all infos that you need.

Your first line and then a HUGE thread of typing really turned me off from even reading, sadly. Good luck with learning stealth and hope the other ppl commenting are giving you good advice.

No shady selling activity. Just need to keep selling expenses managed out of a different expense account from my purchasing activity due to my fixed income and need to carefully monitor my household operating account.

My selling would be very modest and its income not commiserate with that of a business . . . . and the accounts income coupled with my modest Social Security not match any required tax reporting thresh holds - - - I am not keen on the required forced business account tax forms and corresponding state correlated tax hoops.

This is a single houshold. PayPal accounts are likely already linked out of ignorance. Must make a save out of this mess for the interim until I'm stealth savvy.

You mention there may be a problem with linking the two paypal accounts. However it shouldn't matter if you have one personal and one business account because that is within the rules, right?

except if you have any problem on one, you entire business is gone...Never link when income is on the line.

In order to NOT be linked, what're the key items that need to be different between Paypal accounts. I definitely will buy the Stealth book, but for now I just need those few details. I appreciate it. Thanks!
