question on cookies and flash and all the tracking stuff

So I have Vmware working with stealth account set up to go.
But on my host, I want to block all my programs from internet when VPN is turned on, or block them from using the VPN as I want to use my own non-stealth account on the host.

Any good method you know of? 1 way I know I can do it is by setting firewall rules so my internet browsers are blocked from the VPN. But then, do I have to worry about their cookies? I mean without the browsers being able to access the internet via VPN, the cookies etc are harmless, correct?
