| | | greg2414 | 07-02-2008 05:56 PM | yeah, bit of a mission really lol. I would just use them as back up. Or maybe sell from 5 at a time? |
| mycrowman | 07-02-2008 06:04 PM | Why not setup email forwarding to one email address and answer from there. |
| ebayhateluv | 07-02-2008 06:05 PM | Yes, My Exper has been--I can only handle roughly 12 accts at once.
After that--you start messing up--answering emails to a buyer from acct #A--with the persons name in acct# D.
Also- Slick/Experienced Buyers--who shop a "Category" regularly--pick up its you on 2 diff accts--they ask me, and i always say no.. but just by them asking, ?? |
| imjustme | 07-02-2008 06:10 PM | I don't really mess up, usually I balance about 8-10 at once. But I wanted to somehow get them "de-virginized" and now I'm flooded. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to use dial-up, but I don't really want to take a chance and login to all of them with the same IP range. |
| imjustme | 07-02-2008 06:17 PM | 8:30am. Great. At noon I need to go to the post office with 100+ packages. I may as well go for breakfast now. Screw sleeping, who needs sleep anyways? :D |
| TMiles | 07-02-2008 06:30 PM | Wow...35 accounts.....I cannot imagine.....Makes keeping records a real nightmare.
I would love to hear some advice from our experts on their accounting practices.
Personally, I have fits keeping records on 3 or 4 accounts....My next tax statement will be a beating.... |
| wushuARTIST | 07-02-2008 06:49 PM | How do you take payments mate? don't tell me you have 35 individual paypal accounts aswell:D? |
| richcollegeguy | 07-02-2008 08:55 PM | I use 1 main account, 1 for everyday listings/buying and 1 backup |
| Ballsack | 07-02-2008 10:08 PM | Selling on that many accounts and using dialup is unimagineable to me. |

| John14789 | 07-03-2008 03:13 AM | And you put working numbers on all those accounts?
If you do then you have alot of telephone forwarding bills to pay monthly! |
| imjustme | 07-03-2008 06:19 AM | Nope, ⊗⊗⊗⊗ numbers everywhere. Some accounts are as old as 8 months without problems. |
. so, u get thru the verification process w/ one of those free trial phone forwarding #'s, then let it die? ( the phone # I mean) |
| aspkin | 07-03-2008 07:50 AM | He's in Japan, different rules for every country.
Good job imjustme, no helper yet? :) |
| imjustme | 07-03-2008 12:54 PM | No helper yet. Probably won't get one either. If I hire someone he'll end up doing the same 2 weeks after :( |

as far as listings go, it must be tuff to be 'creative' with so many accounts. |

| imjustme | 07-03-2008 01:31 PM | I don't need to phone verify at all. No eBay phone verification, lovely women. Welcome to Japan. :D |
| John14789 | 07-03-2008 01:36 PM | Lucky you :)
What do you personally do to build feedback on a new account? |
| imjustme | 07-03-2008 01:52 PM | Just normal auctions for about 30 items. Maybe I lower the price a few $'s on these and once I have 5+ feedback, I list with BIN. |
| aejacks8 | 07-11-2008 06:20 PM | Opening Multiple Accounts w/ Diff IPs - How to log back in? So the plan is to open up new accounts at different places around town that have WiFi...McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Library, etc...
Now, when I want to access that account/sell an item/answer messages do I have to go back to that same location? If so, how do people who reset their modems to get a new IP accomplish this?
Does eBay/PP track IPs on all log-ins or just registrations?
Thanks! |
| greg2414 | 07-11-2008 06:29 PM | i think you have to sign up with ebay and paypal with same ip. BUT you can login with any ip (I think) but dont change ip's too much as it may raise flags also.
Create loads of accounts then just use 1 and stick to that ip. |
| aejacks8 | 07-11-2008 07:10 PM | Thanks for the reply. Can anyone confirm this? |
| Exeneva | 07-13-2008 06:37 PM | eBay and Paypal ARE sharing information. This has already been discussed multiple times. So if a Paypal account is linked to an eBay account, then differences in IP will be noticed. |
| greg2414 | 07-13-2008 06:45 PM | Hence what i said ? |
| oompaloompa | 07-14-2008 03:51 AM | dynamic ip hi
a question for a technophile, i checked with UK BT that i have a dynamic no static ip address, i checked ip on whatsmyip and it is different today than yesterday, am in the clear and dont have to start unplugging things, can i get back on my banned website (they are dodgy NOT me) without detection, i have new details for a prepay card . my new address is in a different city to ip about 50 miles away, will that flag something up.
thanks this site is great. |
| noel123ie | 07-14-2008 04:14 AM | Hi there
Please explain ip address changes are needed if you have a suspended ebay account
please explain the banned website details - why banned, if its your site i can not understand how they can ban you?
Thanks
Noel |
| aejacks8 | 07-14-2008 05:33 PM | Thats not what I'm asking... Greg believes that you can log-in anywhere once the account is created on a "clean" ip. Just want to see if that is what everyone else does. |
| brokebackebay | 08-01-2008 12:49 AM | aejacks8 - I log-in under separate Window User ids for each ebay account I have. That id is solely dedicated to that ebay account. At the beginning of each day, I unplug my modem, let it sit for a little over a minute, plug it back in and log in to one of the windows user ids. I note which ip address I am using (ipburger.com). Then, when I am ready to move on to do something on another account, I log out of the windows id I was in, do the same routine with the modem, and start all over with a new windows user. EACH AND EVERY TIME I go to log into ebay I double check the ip address to make sure it isn't on the list for any of the other ebay accounts. All of this applies to logging in to PayPal as well.
I am currently selling under 2 ids created within the last month or so and have one sleeper set aside, just in case. I am looking to set up one more that I will link to a merchant acct. as I've never tried that before and want to give it a shot.
I let the cookies/flash stuff run on one id, and not the other. As I understand it, if you are being as careful as I am with the separate window ids then it shouldn't matter as the cookies/flash are only going to sit in the windows user they were placed in. They don't get on their cell phones and chat....<grin>
