HK seller, create separate accounts with own information, pass video verification
 

I'm a HK seller, so no SSN issue... never....
I found it's feasible to create totally separate accounts using my information.

Stealth Guide is the basic for creating separate account, but some key factors are needed to create new accounts using "real" info:

1. 2 years ago, I use my passport information, now I use my HKID info. (Actually, I also have PRC ID card and a passport only used to enter HK and Macau, so theoretically, I can create 2 more identities if I want to....)

2. 2 years ago, I use my US bank account (since I was in US at that time), now I use my new credit card and bank account in HK. (not difficult to have one more credit card in HK)

3. I changed a new phone number.. so no problem

4. Address, I use English version address last time, and this time, I change it to the Chinese version, still the same address, but seems the system cannot link them! (so does the real name... I use my Chinese name this time... and the initial letters of my Chinese name as the registered name, so even when they check my ID, no problem....)

HK seller has to pass a "video verification" to raise selling limits... I change my hair style to do it twice... Successfully passed twice....
I guess video verification cannot identify your face... just a way to threaten you maybe?


Just feel too good to be true... any suggestions or questions?

woah woah woah, video verification?? is this for ebay or PAYPAL?! (and I know this applies to HK accounts)

The video verification is for eBay. My Paypal has never encounter any extra requirements.

As for the video verification, if the HK account wants to increase the selling limit (from 1900HKD to 38,000HKD per month, quite a lot right?), the only way is to do the video verification. Once the verification is passed, your account is much safer and the selling limit is likely to increase every month (at least for 2 of my accounts).

The process for video verification:
1. enter your name, address and phone number (I use name initials which is different from my HKID, Chinese version address, real phone number)
2. eBay will verify your phone number by sending you a code to your phone
3. your computer must have the relevant adobe flash software to support the video camera
4. eBay will ask you to gesture a number (i.e. 9) using your fingers (maybe to see if you are a live person?), and the camera will adjust to capture 6(or 9? i don't rmb) ideal photos which demonstrate your different facial expressions.
5. wait for 3 business days.
6. during the 3 business days, you may be asked to provide bank statement, etc. to prove your identity (only 1 of my accounts receives this requirement, the other pass the verification directly). I PS my bank statement to make the name on the bank statement to be the same as my name initials.
7. You'll receive an email from ebay saying that your verification is approved and your selling limit will be increased accordingly.
8. If your selling limit hasn't changed, call eBay customer service to do it manually. No kidding...one of my accounts encountered this problem....

Well, I have 2 UK EBAY accounts with my real info.

1st one was blocked. Then a month or 2 later I moved into a new apt and registered a new EBAY and PAYPAL accounts with my real name (new address , new IP of course)even sent PAYPAL the same passport copy.

Being linked doesn't necessarily mean your accounts will go down...it is possible (and likely) that you are linked but still allowed to sell/operate....for now
