| | | tattedupmike | 08-03-2016 12:44 AM | how to run multiples on same computer I'm looking at starting 2 new accounts. i want to use my computer so that i can do nice html listings. i have been using 1 account for the past year and was doing ok sales for my category but it was recently **** canned. so i want to do 2 accounts. i use cox internet and as far as i can see when i try to change my ip its not working. next month i will be moving to a new house and I'm guessing that means new ip. i will need to have 2 user accounts on my computer 1 for each account, how can i make it so they each have a separate ip when i log in? i need to get back to selling asap. |
Re: how to run multiples on same computer Create a new folder on your computer for the new stealth account, then download chrome portable or firefox portable into that folder. You can administer your new Stealth account from that folder.
IP address shouldn't be an issue, many mobile providers offer dyanmic IP addresses so you can have as many as you want |

also explain what you mean a new folder and administer my account from it. |

Using either of these methods gives you access to thousands of IP addresses
Portable browsers allow you to run as many unique installations as you want from one user account. Each installation of the portable browser is unique, has different cookies etc.
To start out, if you are making just one or two accounts, you may opt instead for making a user account for each stealth account on your computer |
| Ubaida | 08-03-2016 08:25 AM | Re: how to run multiples on same computer I would suggest creating different user accounts on the computer.
Get a dedicated IP for each user. |
| tattedupmike | 08-03-2016 11:41 AM | Re: how to run multiples on same computer and how can i get a dedicated ip for each user? i tried just getting my ip to change by unplugging and it didn't work. i mainly want 2 or 3 accounts. ive been running one for the last year and did really good but it got shut down in july and i am still not selling so I'm running out of time. if you guys could explain these things is dummy terms it would save my life. I'm using an hp laptop and my internet provider is cox, if that matters at all. |
| yankee | 08-03-2016 11:56 AM | Re: how to run multiples on same computer I would start with getting the stealth guide and reading it until you grasp these concepts. Everything is explained in detail on this.
Then come back and ask very specific questions. You really need to understand the basics before taking the next steps. |

1. You can run multiple Accounts in 2 ways:
A) Seperate User Accounts
B) VMWare
Based on your needs...go with A
2. Internet
Forget about your Internet Provider (Cox), you have better chance of getting hit by lightning than changing IP's. You have a lot of options here:
A) Dedicated IP for each account - look into 24vc.com for this service
B) Mifi/Dongle - This works if you get a provider which is easy to change IP's....such as Verizon. With this option you will need to LOG each IP change when switching between Accounts. |

I'm still trying to figure out what these things are and exactly how they work. i have read the stealth book I'm just not super tech savvy. |

also a friend of mine works for a internet security company and told me he can give me a vpn. I'm still trying to figure out what these things are and exactly how they work. i have read the stealth book I'm just not super tech savvy. | A VPN works like this:
Your Computer (Using your home Internet) --> Connects to a "Server" (Another Computer) which then Reroutes your Computer with a new IP Address. In most cases you will be using a special software that does it for you, you just hit connect...it connects, your off to the races. |
| tattedupmike | 08-04-2016 02:10 PM | Re: how to run multiples on same computer so everytime i sign into a different user on my account it connects and gives me a different ip? that sounds like the way to go. |
Re: how to run multiples on same computer You don't need VPN, VPN is predominantly for people running for example USA accounts from another country. Mobile Internet providers can you a fresh IP address every time you connect - you disconnect then connect the internet on your tethered phone, or unplug and plug your modem every time you want a fresh IP |
| tattedupmike | 08-04-2016 07:19 PM | Re: how to run multiples on same computer see i tried the unplug and replug and my internet it the same ip. i was thinking maybe a fresh ip purchased for each user account on my computer would work best. just hard to scratch money together to get started again when paypal puts you on the 180 day hold out of nowhere and you lose 3k. had to borrow money to pay my rent lol |

you don't understand what Sax4 is telling you , and that's sad, because it is the solution to your problrm, and you will save a lot of money if you do this instead of using a VPN ...
He is talking about 3g/4g connection, not about your "home internet"
Do you know that you can share the 3g/4g connection of your phone with your computer ?? You have to use the thetering function.
Then let's see how easy it is to change IP :
1 - open your browser in your phone and got to : https://www.ipburger.com/
You will see your IP
2 - write your IP on a paper
3 - then, turn off your phone
4 - then turn on your phone and do step 1 again !! You have a new IP, right ???
Then, by sharing this IP with your computer, you can get many differents IP |

Comcast does work this way, but you need to buy a modem only, configure it with comcast and then unplug and plug in new routers... Slow method and you still need to log IPs. |

You have to log IP's, yes, or you can just put some duct tape on the router of which account it is. Not too terrible. |

The cool thing with this old method is that you can often pull the same IP per router for a really long time. |
| peghmeypong | 08-10-2016 03:00 PM | Re: how to run multiples on same computer Just going back up the thread a little to Sax4's post about portable browsers - is it really that easy to have multiple eBay accounts in one user account?
I have hundreds of accounts lying in wait in various stages of development. I have always have 10 current sellers, 20 lying in wait for if/when my 10 first-teamers go down that have completed all verification and have one or two household items listed that won't sell because they're priced too high, 30 that are used to bid, watch, ask questions, make lowball offers on big ticket items etc before they get verified and then 150+ that are just an eBay account, PayPal account and gmail account.
My problem is that if I have 60 user accounts on my computer, it hangs on sign in or start up and will do so multiple times. Could I, using vmware, virtual box or portable browsers, use one user account and save me the hassle? I like to check in on them, build up a cookie profile, get a couple of feedbacks rather than jump straight in at verification stage without building up months of cookie-work - basically pretend I'm a real person. |
| peghmeypong | 08-10-2016 03:05 PM | Re: how to run multiples on same computer PS. I use a 3G/4G dongle, OP.
Highly recommend Huawei E3131, I have a few and buy sims from eBay. I buy a few different networks to mix it up a bit. I use a spreadsheet to track the IP address (I use conditional formatting to show a duplicated IP address as red and a unique one as green - think the idea came from JamesNorth101 originally, years ago. My homepage on every account is ipburger.com, just copy it into my spreadsheet. If it turns green, go ahead. If it turns red, remove the dongle and replace with another. Because they are powered by the computer, as soon as they are removed, they lose their connection and have to get a new one with a new IP every time they are plugged in. |

Also, if you need to export some of your accounts to another computer, it's really easy |

Exporting accounts and maintaining cookies would be incredibly valuable.
I know what VMware is. Just. It's not my area of expertise (yet). Do I need one virtual machine per account? In fact, does anyone know of a good tutorial?
SO MANY QUESTIONS |
| aking | 08-10-2016 04:02 PM | Re: how to run multiples on same computer Come on guys, you are seriously recommending VMware and 24vr for the new stealthier? They need to learn the old school way before they dive into that stuff.
1 pc, separate user name per account, IP log when switching accounts, piece of cake. |

SO MANY QUESTIONS | vmware is easier to use than many people say or think. If you know how to instal Windows on a computer, then, you are ready to use vmware
Yes, 1 vm for each account, and you can maintain cookies and differents browser fingerprint for each accounts |

1 pc, separate user name per account, IP log when switching accounts, piece of cake. | Personally, I think it's fairer to give all the options and allow personal choice over withholding options. Allow people to make their own decisions. |

Can I have the spreadhsheet open and copy and paste information into portable browsers from my desktop safely?
Will I have to have one open at a time and change IP every time i change account (as I do now, I use mobile broadband).
How much space does each portable browser take up? If I have a large pen drive could I plonk a few on there that I may need if I go away?
Thanks in advance |

Thanks in advance | Depends on the browser and addons/plugins etc. FF is about 90-200mb per portable and chrome can get up to a couple gigs if you let it. |
| peghmeypong | 08-12-2016 05:47 PM | Re: how to run multiples on same computer FF it is then. 60~GB/ 200MB should give me room for plenty of accounts.

At present I have about 100 'homeless' accounts. I sporadically create an account, click a load of links within eBay, lowball offers, 99p bids on big ticket items, ask questions but then the cookies are lost when I delete the account again to stop them all slowing my computer down.
Can I share the cookies with a proper Firefox installation on a user account too? | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:25 PM. | |
