Yea they do all the verification up front vs after activity that PP does. The upside is that you can run a lot faster with the verified Stripe account. Unless you're doing shady stuff and they can somehow link you to another Stripe you've burned. Then they shut you down immediately. In my experience, they do this additional 'know your customer' check after 10-20k in sales. #Askmehowiknow

Long term wise, probably better off paying them, to make your life easier in terms of not having to always use stealth with them

Stripe run a soft search on your credit file here in the UK to comply with ML regs (I know this because I've just started using them myself and they've shown up on my credit file as a personal/quotation search)- I imagine this is the same worldwide.

Either way, what it means is stealth (certainly for UK accounts) is not possible give their verification methods.

Hi guys, I know this thread is old but I'm facing the same situation today. I owe them money and I'm hesitating to create a stealth account.
Did you create a new account or give the money back to them?
