I've had no problems with stripe or square after the initial registration/acceptance. I'm still using Paypal for 90% of off-eBay sales though. Fee structure is nearly identical for all of them.
TSYS was the company I went with for a merchant account because of their lax underwriting requirements. That was after being rejected by a merchant account from my bank because of no credit history. Their online portal felt like it was from the stone ages but it didn't really matter since almost everything was done on the payment gateway (auth.net) side of things.
Monero is pretty cool too.
