Does MerchantPlus+Authorize.net+Auctiva Still Work?
 

Hello,

I was just reading an old post and I was wondering if the MerchantPlus+Authorize.net+Auctiva method still works?

Please, if anyone can tell me, it would be very much appreciated.

Yes, you can use a merchant with your account. Not to hate on authorize.net, but you have many, many options.

Do you mean that Auctiva will allow for more than just authorize.net as the payment gateway?

oh, well I'm not sure about that... I do know there are many many options to accept payments from customers, which is really your only goal.

Sure, no problem. Most people are addicted to paypal for a variety of reasons:

Ease of use, heavily marketed with ebay, most people feel comfortable with it, you were raped as a teenager, they accept debit/credit cards, have an outstanding buyer guarantee, blah blah blah

People can pay you for your products however they like. I prefer cash. Any ONE payment solution should not be your ONLY avenue to get revenue.

Yep, that's still an option for you. Though if you have problems with Merchant Plus accepting you, they are pretty strict on accepting people, there are a dozen other merchant account providers that can set you up with Authorize.Net.

OK, I just searched through a dozen threads for this answer but didn't find it. (I apologize if this has been answered 50 times, but I promise I did look, please have some patience for this newbie :)

If I disable auto invoice in ebay, and use auctiva invoice for merchant plus. . .do we still need to fax the docs to ebay?

Could we just get away with auctiva invoice as long as we list paypal as an option in ebay? Will ebay get wise to this and suspend?

HI, I'm also a newbie. This question/comment may fall under different categories.. First I was wondering w ccnow how many ebay accounts can be hooked to it? I read the stealth and thanks but somethings i cant remember if i read them on the forums or thru stealth..im also sorry if i ask questions that may have been answered already. 2. i read that sellers are using a junk email to accept paypal then bill thru ccnow. how is this working since its manual. im using ccnow but it seems difficult to get buyers to use it for checkout.. i also see no way of using it w auctivia. does any one have other suggestions am i missing something? Im hoping to run 4 ebay accounts selling 4 diff categories of items. I hate paypal as they screwed me for 2k. I also created a stealth ebay and paypal and on my first transcation paypal limited then asked for 8 things before i could provided ( its friends info) they denied my appeal. I'm just frustrated and if anyone has options to help i appreciate it.
i guess my question is do i need an auctiva for each ebay account and do i need a ccnow for each account? My credit is shaky is there other options. thanks so much for any and all input...

ccnow is tad expensive, but they're solid once you get established with them. Paypal is a heavily marketed method of payment for customers, so they assume you should accept it. You can message your customers, and explain to them that they're still protected under ebay buyer protection, and not to fear other payment methods. Your business simply did not fit paypals model, so you went with a different authorized merchant processor. Or some other such wording. Make sense?

There are many alternatives to creating accounts yourself, such as purchasing a premade seller account.

I would probably suggest keeping it easy, and managing 4 different ebay accounts with 4 different paypal accounts. Keep back ups handy, and use 4 different user accounts on your computer to keep them separate.


Often times people get too complicated too quickly. Just a bit of advice for when you start out. Keep it simple :)

It's a bit of a learning curve.... the payment gateway is not the checkout system. Does that make sense?

If you need a referral, I signed up with a merchant account that includes Authorize.net. Very good rates. Message me if you need the referral.

OK I have merchant plus, and auctiva. I have the merchant plus linked through my auctiva checkout(but no one uses it, only paypal :rant: )

anyway's if I have to invoice someone the total, how do I give them the option to pay with my merchant account.

This merchant account stuff is very confusing to me. How would I just send an invoice with only merchant plus as the payment option? I'm lost!

You can't send them an invoice, or at least I've never been able to. They have to go through your checkout system in order to pay.

Auctiva and Merchant account
 

I've been having the same problem and this is how you do it. You have to select "Merchant Credit Cards" as one of your payment options in the edit listing page in Auctiva. Then, only listings that you submit to ebay from Auctiva from that point on, will allow you to accept Cradit Cards.

As far as keeping Paypal out of it, there's no way to from the Auctiva side, But I think once it's sent to ebay, you can go to your ebay "Buyer Preferences" page, and disable the fact that you accept Paypal from there.

I have a website setup with Prostores (an ebay company) and ebay allows you to redirect buyers checkout process through your Prostores website which allows you to only select Credit cards or money orders as a payment method.

Also, you can go to Auctiva's checkout settings page under the "Account" tab and De-select the box that says "Use Auctiva Checkout" if you don't want your buyer to go through Auctiva.
