Paymate questions?
 

I heard that you're allowed more than one Paymate account and also that you're able to link those Paymate accounts with different eBay accounts. Is this really true?

1. If so, how many Paymate accounts are you allowed?

2. Does Paymate share any info with eBay for them to link in any way?

3. If you get an eBay account suspended, would you be able to just create a new stealth eBay account and link the old Paymate to that account without getting noticed?

4. Finally, does the eBay account information and the Paymate account information need to match?

Yes you can have more than one account. Not sure on how many you can have, paymate do not share you info with ebay. No info do not need to match ebay account.

1. From what the people at Paymate have told me there was no limit on the amount of accounts you could have. Now I am sure you couldn't have like 100 going at one time. They may wonder??

2. Paymate does not share your info with Ebay in any way shape or form. All of my Paymate accounts are in my real name and they are all hooked to stealth Ebay accounts.

3. If you get a Ebay account suspended then the Paymate account is basically useless. You can not change the Ebay account that the Paymate account is linked to. I asked them about it and they said "Just open another account".

Hope this helps as I have been using Paymate for many months and this is all based on my experiences with them.

This seems almost too good to be true. Definitely getting a Paymate account very very soon. One last question is how strict are they? Would they limit or suspend a seller just as easy as Paypal would? Putting it more simply is it safe to sell VeRO with Paymate things liks DVDs, name brand clothes, sunglasses, electronics, etc?

I'm selling DVDs and Mac cosmetic with no problems so far. My account was suspend at first because i had feedback with low price items but when i sold high price items Paymate lift my suspension. I have been selling good with no problems for about 6months now.

I honestly don't think Paymate cares what you sell. As long as you don't start issuing refunds or have chargebacks then it is business as usual. I recently had 2 seperate BIN listings that sold a total of 40 items in a matter of a few hours. Later that week I was talking to one of the head guys at the US Paymate office and while he was looking through my account he asked me what i was selling that had 40 payments of the same amount for on the same day. I told him and he didn't even question me. This particular item is one that is guaranteed to get a Paypal account limited quick even if you sell only one of them.

I have a question....If I have an aged seller account with 15 feedback but have sold only 4 things on it, do I have to sell 6 more in order to use Paymate?

What if this account doesn't have a PayPal account? Can I still sign up for Paymate?

Or, should I create a new PayPal account, verify and link it to the ebay account, then sell 6 more items, and only then switch to Paymate??

To sign up for a Paymate account you need to meet the following criteria.
-minimum 10 feedback as a seller within the last 6 months
- 98% or higher feedback rating

So you will need to get 10 feedback as a seller how ever you can. You do not need a Paypal account in order to get a Paymate account. You just need the stuff listed above.

Another question that popped in my head. Paymate allows a maximum of $5000 that you can raise for a one time fee.

If you have multiple accounts under the same name do they each have their own $5000 limit or do they all fall under one account and each of them have a $5000 limit combined?

But 98% of ebay users use Paypal, don't they? So how would using Paymate be of any benefit to a seller? Are people allowed to send Paypal payments to Paymate users when they buy things on ebay or something? Someone please explain...

Not having to worry about Paypal limitations is a HUGE benefit if not the most important. Especially for sellers who have Paypal limited with their real SSN attached to it. You can open fresh new Paymate accounts with your unused SSN.

Also, not having to worry about 21-day payment holds, withdrawing, selling VeRO and being shut down for whatever else bull**** Paypal can come up with.

The only downsides I see with switching to Paymate is the time it takes for payments to clear so you can ship out and maybe having a smaller customer base. I don't think the latter is too much of a problem. From what I hear people that switched to Paymate did not see a significant change in customers and the ones I'm researching using Paymate are doing just as good as their Paypal counterparts.

I made the switch on Monday. Got everything set-up and ready to accept payments in less than 30 minutes. Launched about 9 auctions for a test run and I've got plenty of bids and watchers already. We'll see how good the ending prices go up to on Saturday and Sunday. I'll update here, if I remember.

I just signed up for paymate took about a minute and they didn't ask for ssn, it seems like you could have stealth accounts just like paypal, anyone try that yet?

Hm, they asked for my SSN twice when I did it. One for company details, a business tax ID or a SSN if it's a sole proprietorship. The second was for the SSN of the owner./

They're both red star requirements and I couldn't leave them blank or continue without them. How did you do it? Can you accept payments?

I just filled out the form and logged in and it says I have $5000 a month selling limit, I haven't linked it with an ebay account yet, maybe they ask for it later.

Oh yeah now I remember, I think once you enter your "Merchant Details" is when they ask for both of them.

so can you give them your real ss number if your real ss number is part of a suspended paypal account?

Yes, my Paypal with my real SS# attached to it was suspended LONG ago like 5 years ago. I used my real SS# with Paymate and so far everything has been smooth sailing.

The only downfall is the time it takes for the payments to actually hit your bank account. It is taking FOREVER!

Their website says:

"USD Payments: Will be paid from 5-10 business days later, allowing for payments that may be delayed by our risk assessment system, domestic versus international payments and any delays in posting credits at your bank."

How long in practice does it actually take? 5-10 business days doesn't sound too bad compared to Moneybookers.

will this paymate ever come to the uk?

What happens when your feedback drops below 98% ? I signed up with 98.1% the day after I get 1 neg that drops it down to 96.5%, I need about 40 feedback to get back to 98% does paymate suspend for that?

Above 95% should be fine.

Too late just got suspended, you have to mantain 98% or more, I could switch it to another user but I like my paypal muli-order shipping too much, think I'll put paymate on hold for a while.

Anyone know how they treat open disputes? Is there a number of disputes per week/month you can receive before they suspend your account?

Did you try that suspended paymate account back with the original paypal or do they call ebay and shut you down?

They don't share info with ebay, my paypal is limited, got suspended from paymate because my feedback dropped below 98% all transactions cancelled.

Boy they are tough. I've been lucky so far with paymate. But thats not good.

They said I can still set up another account with another user but all my other user's have non-limited paypal's so I'll wait until another paypal get's limited and try em again.

That's cool at least they didn't just ban you forever. I would never see such lenience with Paypal.

I like Paymate, a quick update on my short dealings with them. I had an active Paymate account for about a month. Everything worked great, customers paid me, I shipped out, money in the bank and that's all that really matters.

Same thing I mention earlier though the only downfalls is the time it takes for the money to hit your account. I never had any disputes accepting nearly 80 payments, selling all VeRO. Customer service answers to your questions through e-mail pretty quickly however, I did try to call them once and it went to voicemail :noidea:?

Alas, my most recent eBay account using Paymate has been suspended indefinitely :doh:. I was being too careless with VeRO. I was worried that because my Paymate account was so new that they would ban me from using their services but, they were really cool about it. I told them I wanted to close the account due to not being able to use it anymore and said I'd like to use the service again with a new account and they were perfectly OK with that.

I would do the opposite. Use paymate till you get suspended, then use paypal to keep going. Adleast with paymate you have a second chance with that account. With paypal you can get a nasty suspension with possible ebay finishing you off.

Yeah but I like to do high volume with fast shipping, same day or next day, with paypal multi order shippping you can do that and also don't have to worry about feedback percentages or what you're selling and all my accounts are at least a few months old so I can still do a few thousand a month with out many problems, paypal is much easier to me ecspecially if you sell 50 items a day since tracking is automatically entered into paypal and an automated email with tracking is sent to the customer, that doesn't happen when you import your orders via csv file from paymate.

That's what they said, it's only suspended for that ebay user until the feedback gets back up to 98%, you can still open another paymate account with a different ebay id even though your paymate info is still the same, in my case, but still paypal is much easier, I'll only go to paymate when another paypal get's suspended.

paymate slow in crediting me my money
 

I opened a paymate in late July got payments posted the end of July still have not transferred any of my money to my bank account. Does anyone have an idea how long it will take for them to start transferring money to my bank account. They keep saying 2 or 3 days

average amount of time now there saying on the emails i have gotten from paymate after a sale is: 5-10 business days! to your checking account.

Any updates on Paymate yet?

Anyone has a idea how come my oaymate account isn't working or doesn't want work with my eBay account ? I have my eBay account in good conditions, I have 100% feedback. I'm trying to link my paymate account. Info on eBay is different then paymate. But I heared it doesn't need to match. Paymate has the eBay info it shoes up there. But when I'm going to agree to terms etc.. and I click submit on paymate, it says that couldn't connect or whatever with third party, also says to try later or try to add more stuff on details.
Anyone has any idea ?
