| loveandhate | 12-27-2007 12:28 PM | Im sure.... Im sure no matter what you do that is illegal, CRAPbay is goingto find a way to suspend you. What about those auctiva rates for merchant accounts? They seem insane, but if im able to use a merchant account along with different info for my ebay account, im all for it. does anyone use merchant checkout by auctiva? how does it work? |
| aspkin | 12-27-2007 08:33 PM | Half the people on this forum using alternatives to Paypal. Before you could just say you don't accept Paypal and that you have a merchant account. You could then send an invoice to the buyer after the sale. If you use Checkout, send them the invoice and they pay. But now ebay wants to verify your merchant account before you can use it. Its just more of a pain now, but it still works. |
| loveandhate | 12-28-2007 12:40 PM | Thank goodness we are starting to massively use a way around paypal, and buyers are accepting this change. Maybe everyone is just sick of PP. |
| ebayhateluv | 12-28-2007 01:19 PM | I've used Ccnow since AUgust now--sure, had a couple jerks..give me the 3rd degree, but all in all it was worth it--just like paypal--you can also change your email address in ccnow--
__ so, you can change to a diff email once you switch accts..
__For me-- its like a Savings acct-- i cant spend on everyday Junk- cds, mcdonalds, etc. whats not on an atm card.. CCnow only deposits on the 1st + 15th. ..looking forward to over $20k in 3 days..(+ no holds/freezes/limitations)..They suffer all that with paypal..not me |
| rollinlove | 12-30-2007 04:31 AM | Let me see if I have this down on how this works. Once you set up a merchant account, and say you just sold a item on ebay for $200. You then send the winner of the auction a invoice through your merchant account for the total amount due. Then the customer can use their paypal account to pay you, in turn goes into your merchant account which you can withdraw the funds from there??? So that you never even have to use SUCKpal!!! Please let me know if I have this info correct, I'm still learning but very greatful for all the info you guys have shared on this fourm:rolleyes: |
| Jonas | 12-30-2007 11:44 AM | When I use a merchant account only, I find it really helps to explain in my auction all the ways paypal is bad for the buyer. Not seller, but unsafe for buyer.
Also, how does CCNOW handle paypal disputes and credit card chargebacks through paypal? Can you fight them? |
I've been reading this forum for quite some while now. Ever since ebay and paypal started linking accounts, I've had problems getting reinstated.
So I understand that we're no longer supposed to use our paypal accounts because we'll get suspended. So we need a merchant account now. But will these merchant accounts still accept paypal payments? If so, is there a way to make it so that the "pay now" button in the listings leads directly to payment through the merchant account?
Please reply thanks |
| ebayhateluv | 12-31-2007 07:24 PM | HI- Having had 3 ccnow disputes oin the last 5 months- heres what they do-- they send you an inquiry-- YOU, not them closes it.. I had the same guy buy 2 items, of course BOTH were unsatisfactory so i just gave them returns address, thats it.. The 3rd was another last name, but same city- same thing- disappointed--so i sent same message- gave buyer return instructions--and its closed.. As for Paypal- I can proove delivery-- so thats it- had last dispute september 5 or 6th- never heard anymore.. they freeze amount of inquiry until YOU close it- then goes back into your balance.. |

| ebayhateluv | 12-31-2007 07:53 PM | HI- I did NOT set it up on ebay-- You set it up at Merchant account alternative: CCNow, then in ebay you list as acceptin merchant accts paypments. IN my decript-- I put PLEASE ..wait for Auction Invoice;
Accepting PAYPAL, Mastercard/Visa/Discover Card/American Express/Debit Card....
Then in Pyt Instructions at bottom--same thing in caps-- then i write down my auction ending dates/times on a post it note-- put it on my index card for that acct--
This way- if I'm at the Mall- and I know i got 3 aucitons ending in 10 mins-- I either rush home--or head for a library-- I get those invoices out asap--
I typed a generic bioler plate to accompany the invoice--telling them, they will receive an invoice from our Retail Merchant acct, ccnow
__ it is 100% secure + we accept paypal, etc., etc..
-- ANY HASSLES-- I reply--Dear Sir/Madame:
I am sorry we doNOT have a personal Paypal acct, just a Retail Merchant acct that accepts ALL Pyts, like walmart.com,
--- Please pay with your choice of pyt securely--here is the link again:
(and I copy/paste the ccnow link to pay)-- It may take you a few tries-but I can copy/paste an invoice in under a minute.. (WITH spelling mistakes of course)-- but they get it... :))
Good Luck! |
| bud750 | 01-22-2008 07:07 PM | has anyone used merchantinc yet, says its work great with ebay |
| MrJosh | 01-22-2008 07:23 PM | Thats who I have! It is through First Data
It works awesome!! They automatically send invoices to buyers, etc.
The software they use is SNSCART
I highly recommend!! Easy to transfer to different ebay accts!!! |
| bud750 | 01-22-2008 07:28 PM | I just signed up for them, says it works great with ebay and stuff worth a shot
monthly fees are about 30.00 right, do u have any problems with people paying thru them |
| MrJosh | 01-22-2008 07:31 PM | not at all --- it goes right to the checking account
you will be able to have a checkout button on your listing AND snscart will automatically send emails to all of your winners
PLUS you will have the option of sending manual invoices
AND you can even accept Google Checkout and PayPal (not that you would ever want to accept paypal) in addtion to credit cards through the SNSCART |
| ebayhateluv | 01-22-2008 07:33 PM | Mr . Josh-- Great Input.. Again!
Could you tell us, how long till you get paid from Merchant inc?
IS the website www (dot) merchantinc (dot) com?
Thanks |

| twdell | 01-24-2008 08:31 PM | i just signed up for the first data account, and it seems like it is going to be realy good. is there any concern about linking that merchant account with the ebay accounts? the rep at first data says they do not share any info with ebay. is this true? am i safe with adding the link to the ebay checkouts? |
| coolandcalm | 01-24-2008 10:05 PM | MrJosh, question for you, check your pm |
| twdell | 01-25-2008 01:08 PM | hey mrjosh. a quick question. did ebay make you verify the first data merchant account with them? if so then i may be in trouble. all of my ebay info is under someone elses name, but my first data account is set up under my name. |
| Chris Hanson | 02-09-2008 12:38 AM | not worth the trouble to me |
| ebaywillpay | 03-28-2008 11:53 PM | Great post!
I was wondering if the buyer pays wit paypal can they use the $ in their balance aswell as a credit card to pay or just cc? |
| Throb-n-Rod | 04-13-2008 10:06 AM | IM Going to get a merchant account but have a couple of questions and have only seen this partially answered. If you account gets canned and you move on to another one or say your on your 4th account, can you use the same merchant account information on all of them? it seams like ebay would say hey why do all these accounts from this same area have the same merchant account information. and on a merchant accout do you supply all your real information is this information kept private. |
| ebaywillpay | 04-29-2008 12:45 PM | A month later i found the answer Lol :) |
| ebay__sux | 04-29-2008 11:05 PM | I just checked out merchantinc(First Data). It says you can integrate your account easily with your ebay auctions. But the only thing is that I wanna sign up for a merchant account but I don't know which one I should sign up for. I read ebayhateluv's messages and looks like CCnow is a great deal that accepts also paypal payments. But the only bad thing about CCnow is the 45 days that I can't get your money in your bank account. Merchantinc(First Data) looks better because MrJosh said it only takes you 3 business days to get the money in your bank account. I have one more problem for signing up one of these accounts. I opened a new ebay account and used all ⊗⊗⊗⊗ information and simon's gift account. Since I used ⊗⊗⊗⊗ information and want to integrate my account with my ebay account, what information will I have to use to sign up for a Merchant Account? And how is it gonna be transfering the money into my personal bank account if I use ⊗⊗⊗⊗ information to sign up for a Merchant Account? |
| ebayhateluv | 04-29-2008 11:11 PM | HI,
Why dont u try Modees Cart Manager.. Its cheap, and it will automate the emails/pyt process--just Pm Modee |
| actionkid7007 | 05-04-2008 01:53 AM | hey a quick question if you have a merchant account you have to put all ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info on there as well as the ebay account are you good? Like social security number and stuff what are you supposed to do with that?? |
| ebaywillpay | 05-04-2008 03:14 AM | kid...theres no need to add ⊗⊗⊗⊗ infor for your own merchant account. |
| actionkid7007 | 05-04-2008 09:21 PM | another question well what I was worried about was the merchant account dont you have to send ebay information and such to fax it. And it you use your real name they will see on the fax papers???can sum1 help. |
| ebaywillpay | 05-07-2008 05:52 AM | kid... read through the Merchant Account section of this forum. Your question will be answered trust me. ;) |
| mharroch | 05-16-2008 12:47 AM | I think Merchantinc is only for US? Anybody know for sure? Anything similar in Canada that's as quick and integrates with ebay?? |
| Danizoomzoom | 06-15-2008 09:40 PM | merchant account What company would you recommend for a merchants account? |
| Brendaleigh | 09-30-2008 03:23 PM | I have searched through all the postings with the Merchant Account search criteria and I still don't know how you can open up a Merchant Account with my real information yet fax eBay the Merchant Account statements with the (⊗⊗⊗⊗) information I used to set these (eBay) accounts up with? Won't the Merchant Account statements have the real information that I set them up with? If this is an obvious question - my apologies. It just seems like a real problem. What am I missing here? |
| Quasi_Mojo | 09-30-2008 05:12 PM | If you've exhausted your search, you might want to contact Modee for some one-on-one support.

| ebaysuc | 12-09-2008 10:16 AM | Hi MrJosh,
You mentioned that mechanistic accept paypal payment from buyer but in their replied email they said that PP is not credit card payment so no... How do u get mechanistic to work with PP payment?
Must merchant account be register with ebay inorder to put a button on the web listing page? If not registered would they pull your listing if the pay button is there? Tks. |
| Savannah | 12-09-2008 11:19 PM | My son has a business not related with ebay. He bought the newest version of Quick Books and he got a merchant account and a website too. It's not that great a website but it's a start for him. I'm wondering if I buy it would I be able to integrate it for ebay purchases? I'm going to research it to find out. If it's that easy maybe it will be a solution for us all? |
| Shadowmoe7 | 07-26-2011 10:43 PM | is there any updates to which merchant account to use? | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:21 AM. | |
