Anyone use Stripe and can offer advice?
 

I just opened a Stripe account under a LLC. I filled out everything legit for the business. Under the agent part I used my name and last 4 of social, they said it was to identify me. Anyway, within 5 minutes of having the account opened I get a request for a whole SSN to keep the account in good standing.

Is this normal? I'm reluctant to do this thanks to PayPal, so is there any work around other than calling them and telling them the EIN is good enough to verify me for tax purposes.

Other notes, I did not take the account live, no transactions. The request came in before I could setup or change anything so I left the account sitting as is. And the last 4 and name are legit and matched.

Its fine to do it with stripe, they are a pretty good company

Do you use a manual entry? Or incorporate it on your site? Or...? API coding

I don't have a website/cart of my own, but I was thinking about using Stripe with a Sell.com store. But I didn't get that far with them yet. I would also be using manual entry if I get it up and going.

Just the sudden change, within 5 minutes, from we need only 4 numbers to the whole SSN raised a red flag.
