Nochex

I searched high and low for a uk merchant. I have bad credit so banks wouldnt have me, so it left me to look at people like Nochex or 2checkout.

My conclusion is this, Nochex are allowed on Ebay!! You can customise your email templates on seller manager to include the Nochex buying link from your auction!!! and they only take 3 days to get to your checking account

Good service if you ask me, i will be using these along with google checkout

Just need to get more Uk accounts hehe, phone ver is annoying

Ballsack 06-22-2008 05:33 PM

Too bad they're only for the UK. What kind of ID do they want or are their id requirements similiar to CCnow?

greg2414 06-22-2008 06:12 PM

I think they can be international because they accept international orders.
Only thing i had to do was pay set up fee £50 and sign a form and send them a blank cheque to proove bank details ;) VoilA!

Ballsack 06-24-2008 05:50 PM

They require a UK Bank account. The blank cheque thing sounds odd.

greg2414 06-24-2008 07:21 PM

i meant blank paying in slip not cheque :p they need too see your bank details. or you can send bank statement

GreenBean 06-24-2008 07:27 PM

'Blank paying in slip' sounds even stranger? Do you mean BANK paying in slip or deposit slip?

Ballsack 06-30-2008 05:33 AM

I don't understand why they would need that. Confirming micro deposits sent to your bank should be enough. Oh well.

Nochex are fantastic. I signed up an account with them, they didn't need any ID from me, I signed up Christmas time?

But now with PP compulsory, no point in me using merch account any more.

But yea I did have success with them.

Hi greg2414,

Do you know if buyers can pay you via Nochex DIRECTLY from their PayPal account?

digitaliz 09-16-2008 07:42 AM

No they cannot and nochex cannot be used with ebay anymore, it is compulsary to use paypal for all UK listings except a few exempt categories.

I believe the real situation is that one has to offer PayPal.

But that one is also able to offer other payment options as well, like ones own merchant account, cheque, wire transfer, cash on collection, etc.

SEE:
Accepted Payments Policy
It says:

Permitted
Sellers may offer to accept:
PayPal (all sellers must offer PayPal in their listings)
Credit cards (including MasterCard, Visa, Amex), debit cards, and bank electronic payments
Bank-to-bank transfers, often known as bank wire transfers or bank cash transfers
Cash for in-person transactions

Not permitted
Sellers may not solicit
Buyers to mail cash.
Buyers to send cash or money orders through instant cash transfer services (non-bank, point-to-point cash transfers) such as Western Union or MoneyGram. We have banned the use of Instant Money Transfers as a payment method on the eBay.co.uk site to protect members, because in the past some sellers have exploited Instant Money Transfers in order to defraud buyers.
Payment through "topping off" of a seller's pre-paid credit or debit card.
Payment through online payment methods not specifically permitted in this policy.

Nochex

Who has a Nochex merchant account and linked to Ebay?
Any good?

yaw1800 12-19-2008 11:11 AM

with buy-it-now : until you get an approved merchant account through ebay, you will always get transferred to paypal.

im still looking for help on getting an approved merchant account, as i dont want to open any unnecessary merchant accounts that i will not use.

GREMLIN 12-19-2008 02:03 PM

yaw1800, have you heard of nochex? Its a merchant provider that is accepted by ebay. i havnt used them myself as at the time when i was gonna sign up i didnt have a business account or a aquiring bank. As i have a registerd business they needed a business bank account. On the sign up page if i can remember correctly they ask you if you are a ltd company, soul trader or ebay seller. If you are a ebay seller they ask you for your ebay id and transfering money to your personal bank account will not b a problem.

Maybe that is your merchant solution as ebay will allow you to use them.

yaw1800 12-19-2008 02:06 PM

what are their fees like? i also noticed you're based in the UK, does nochex work for the US as well?

GREMLIN 12-19-2008 02:24 PM

your right yaw1800
I think they are for uk account only. Have a look on there site and see if they will support the usa. They would be leaving a massive chunk out if they dont offer usa merchant account. The fees are alot better then paypal. Here is a little info from there site

# Typically start at just 2.9% plus 20p per transaction*
# £50 one off setup fee
# Process more - the fees get lower!

* No monthly fees
* No annual fees
* No management fees
* No reporting fees
* No fraud detection fees
* No fraud protection fees
* No settlement of transaction funds fees
