Authorize.net + 2checkout
 

Long story short calling eBay was 0 help so hopefully I can get some helpful answers here.

Does anyone know if by using AUTHORIZE.NET as the gateway and 2CHECKOUT as the merchant will I still be able to accept a buyers PAYPAL balance if they choose to pay with it AND still be able to accept credit cards?

I know 2checkout promotes this can be done on their website but after calling eBay, what should be simple is not. I was told two different answers and although both said "yes" the way it is achieved was different, and I don't like contradictory answers when it comes to this stuff.

Also....

If authorize.net is NOT owned by eBay I'm assuming I use ALL legit info with them as I will obviously be using my LEGIT info on the 2checkout and I'm assuming that info must match. I read that you only add the api number via eBay and thats the "link" so there should be 0 information shared.

Hopefully this gets some views I know this section is kinda tucked away and doesn't have to much activity. If this CAN be done I don't see why its not used more regularly? I mean if we can opt out of paypal and use our legit info on at least another account why wouldn't we? This is only to be done for one of my stealths but hey, it'll be nice to know I have an account that ISN'T using paypal just incase something comes up.


I'm not worried about supplying any info to 2checkout, I don't sell shady stuff so I'm not concerned about the vetting process at all.

I'm wondering the same. But to my research there's a few recent posts that clarifies that you can use authorize.net but can't accept paypal. I will post when I find out.

Yes BUT if you use 2checkout too, which I think you need to add a merchant to use authorize.net you can? Not ALL merchants accept paypal I think? I'm speaking from my research but since I haven't actually done it myself I can't say anything with certainty.

Ebay said I can but they said it with 0 confidence and it seemed like it was the first time ever hearing the question. I know its not popular BUT that may be a good thing. :spy:

How do you use authorize.net + 2checkout on ebay? Do you have to manually invoice? Or is it regular checkout.

I'm busy with listing items and everything but I need to call in a verify this..

I'm like 99% sure all remains the same. They check out like normal paying with their paypal balance (almost all do) and we get it in our 2checkout account. The issue I have is the gateway authorize.net. I don't know how the synchronize with eBay. Both sits say it should work so I don't see why not..

If this works, I don't see why more don't use it?

2checkout may ask for info etc but they AREN'T paypal and are completely different and that can be in a good way :)
