Default Switching user account to a new computer

I have a user account setup on my laptop for my ebay account, but I want to eventually use my desktop for my ebay account. How would I switch over to the desktop without any trouble.

You can do it but on paypal you will need to verify some info when logging in. On ebay you will probably have to do a phone verifaction. GOOD LUCK

if they are used to seeing your cookies, they will ask you to reverify on ebay if selling something, but that is phone or email pin normally....

If you have the exact same version of OS (service pack too), and you use the same user account on the laptop as well as the desktop, you should be able to move your cookies and your LSOs right over.

That should avoid you having to reverify with PP and eBay.

Find out where your cookies are stored. Firefox stores them differently that Internet Explorer. When you find them, copy them to a thumb drive or other device. Insert thumb in destination machine. Copy cookies to appropriate location.

For LSO, you have to do the same thing. LSO is not in the same folder as regular cookies. Some LSO does not get stored in the same location as your average flash cookie. You will need to use Wikipedia or Google to get information specific to your setup and specific to the sites you visit which plant an LSO.

I ran a firefox test a couple days ago to determine functionality for somebody. In the process, I was tracing file storage. Turns out that with firefox 3.0.19 and the sites I visited, LSO was stored in 11 different folders.

So, it depends on your browser and your sites. But once you know your locations, you can move them over just fine. For Paypal, the relevant flash cookie was in a subfolder of C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys

So that's a start.
