| generalgeorgie | 03-25-2009 01:22 PM | Advise about fixing up limited paypal account One of my Paypal accounts has been limited for almost 180 days. It has $3000. in it. I cannot confirm the info as requested by Paypal. I have contacted someone online that will withdraw the money and then Western Union me 50% of it. He claims that he will send me a bank account # to add to the Paypal account and Paypal will allow me to withdraw funds to that account after the 180 days.
I have 2 questions.
1- Can I add my own bank account after the 180 days and save the 50% fee.
2- How long after the 180 days before Paypal "donates" my money as stated in their policies ?
Ebay STEALTH was the best $$$ that ever spent !!! Thanks !!! |
LOL, did a 50% proposal come from Nigerian friend? |
TMiles | 03-25-2009 04:29 PM | If it has been almost 180 days, just wait. Are you willing to risk getting screwed over a week or two... |
lakeman | 03-25-2009 04:34 PM | Tmiles, No where in generalgeorgie's post did it say anything about getting the money early. It said is it possible to add your own bank account and yes it is possible. |
TMiles | 03-26-2009 08:37 AM | One of my Paypal accounts has been limited for almost 180 days.....
Lakeman...I guess I am just too addled minded today.
Pretty much any Paypal account should already have a bank account tied to it previously. Likewise, my point is to simply stay the course and not be ripped off by someone claiming to "fix" the problem for you.
I know for a fact that you cannot delete a bank account on a limited account. Likewise, then to get to this point, you would have to have closed the bank account, which is a "lesson learned." I just simply did not understand how this situation would have arisen in the first place.....
Have a wonderful day!!! |
lakeman | 03-26-2009 08:44 AM | Tmiles, well said. I agree with you. Generalgeorgie why don't you have your own bank account attached? Were you using an unverified paypal? |
yaw1800 | 03-26-2009 09:08 AM | sheesh.. 50% fee, i'll do that for you LOL
If you cant get your own bank account, Just request a check from them (assuming you are able to get the item to the adress listed)
Or ask someone like a friend or relative to get the money out for you...
that 50% sounds absurd |
TMiles | 03-26-2009 10:57 AM | Well said everyone!!!
I love "yaw's" idea... |
generalgeorgie | 03-28-2009 12:15 PM | Being as some of you seem to think I'm an idiot,
Let me clarify, I have a bank account tied to it. Will I be able to transfer the money into that bank account after the 180 days ?
I cannot get the check if it is mailed, so that idea is out.
It is my understanding by reading through everything I could find out in Paypal that the only option to retrieve my money after 180 days is to have a check mailed to me.
Is this correct ? or can I just withdraw to my bank account ?
I just wants me gold and I don't mind waiting. |
lakeman | 03-28-2009 12:24 PM | Yes you can withdraw it to your bank account after the 180 days. Your first post is confusing, you ask about paying someone 50% to add a bank account but you already have your bank account on your paypal. |
generalgeorgie | 03-28-2009 12:36 PM | Thanks ! Paypal is confusing on that point and led me to assume that a mailed check was the only option.
I had seen several "I buy limited paypal" ads and thought they knew something that I didn't. (and they want 50%).
This thread just saved me $1500.
:D :cheer: :bounce: :cheer:
THANKS !!!
PS- I'm asssuming that they drop the address verification after the 180 days too ? |
lakeman | 03-28-2009 01:39 PM | Yes, if your paypal is limited and you wait the 180 days, you will still get your money deposited into your bank account. |
generalgeorgie | 03-29-2009 02:06 PM | Thanks Lakeman. If you were in the Southeast, I'd buy you a steak dinner for your help ! |
generalgeorgie | 03-29-2009 02:12 PM | Just for clarity..... After the 180 days, the limitation is removed and no verifications are needed ?
Sorry if I seem anal about the details. I'm a control freak. |
lakeman | 03-29-2009 02:16 PM | I am in the southeast!
After the 180 days, the limitation isn't removed as in you can use the account again. The account stay limited but, you can withdraw your funds to your bank account after the 180 days without providing the things requested. |
generalgeorgie | 03-29-2009 02:23 PM | Great ! Again, thank you so much Lakeman. I'd invite you to my website to see what I sell, but I don't think links are welcome here or even one of my several Ebay ID's.
You made my day ! |
generalgeorgie | 03-29-2009 02:26 PM | Georgia ??? |
lakeman | 03-29-2009 02:28 PM | No problem, I can tell you I'm not in Georgia, but your guesses are up! lol :D |
