Sending photo ID & docs - wait for review or call in?
 

When Paypal gets limited and they ask for photo ID and documents - is it better to 1) send in electronically and wait or 2) call in and try to get it restored over the phone?

I've always done the latter but wondering what's more effective?

I feel like sending things in and waiting around will result in Paypal having them take their sweet time in checking every detail -- is this right or both ways work?

I always wait two days and then call in.

Let me tell you why.

I had four accounts that I let go dormant because eBay wanted verification at one time or the other. I finally got around to sending all the information they wanted in and I waited about a week. After a week one of the accounts was restored to active status!

Yaaaaaah!

But what about the other three?

I called eBay and found out on the one account the information that I uploaded never reached them even though I received the message that my information was uploaded.

Another of the three accounts they needed more information on and on the last of the three they needed to verify my maiden name which I was able to do over the phone.

All in all I had to call in five or six times to get them all restored but eBay reps were great and it couldn't have worked out better.

My advice - Just call them because you never know what could have gone wrong and if you have all the information to verify your account your gold anyhow!

Sent in the docs and it was denied. Confirmed my thoughts about calling in right after submission and trying to get it restored asap.

Also PP rep. mentioned they check with utility bill companies on whether you're not in their database.

Im sorry I ready your question and in my mind swapped Paypal for eBay

that is BS about database, it cannot be routine calls, as stealth docs would not pass for some people otherwise, plus not sure how it sits with data protection anyway....

In my experience, I usually call paypal after submitting ⊗⊗⊗⊗ docs but lady's usually deny you.

If they put you on hold for over 5+ min, the chance of getting permanently limited is about 90% at this point. On the other hand, if they come back within 5 min's it's almost the opposite.

Don't have much experience with just submitting ⊗⊗⊗⊗ docs and waiting for a manual review.
