I'm a bit confused..limited acct+money request
 

Hey. I recently had an account limited. I had used this account for a little while to make small purchases and sales, but I guess one day overstepped my bounds with it, as it was never verified and only had a gift card placed on it.

Now, I agreed to make a purchase from someone I dealt with before using that account, and they sent me a money request to it. Since they had that email on file as mine from last time I bought from them, they just assumed everything was the same with the account. But...it's now limited with a money request in it lol.

Is this normal? I figured that since it was limited, PP wouldn't let it receive money requests. Why would I be able to receive a money request that I obviously won't be allowed to complete? Am I missing something here, or does paypal just allow limited accounts to keep receiving money requests even though they can't be paid? It makes no sense to me.

you may be unlimited and then you can pay money request.

they let you receive a money request, so waht, doesnt mean any money is going anywhere until they say so...

I realize that it doesn't necessarily mean any money is going anywhere. It just seems like it would be easy enough for them to just block money requests from limited accounts.

...and not gain interest on your money? HELLO! Think of it from their perspective. They'll let you accept $ all day long especially if you can't take any out

no, if you are limited you cannot receive money.

It depends on the type of paypal limitation. Some you can receive payments and some you can't.

If I had to guess, The reason the would let you keep getting money request is to say "hurry up and provide us all of your info, someone is trying to send you money!" :D
