How stupid would it be to...?
 

I had an EG and GP stelt acc from a few months ago. I had listed some low risk items, which didn't sell. Just had my first sale and EG lifted my limits to 2k per month. Unfortunately, as it seems to have recently happened with many others, my gp was limited and they're asking for id, address, business info (even though it's a personal acc), inventory and proof of shipping. I have over a month to submit the docs after which they'll completely restrict the acc.

Here's my simple "solution", which everyone is more than likely frown upon - open a new GP acc with the same names as the EG acc., shut down the old account, refund the buyer and link the new gp to eg. I don't have any money in the gp, other than the $60 from the sale. I do care about the EG account though, since it's aged and with 2k per month limit now. How should I proceed?

I understand and wouldn't have done it, if it was not a public forum. Could you please advise me, if this is a terrible idea or I might slip through the cracks?

also why were you limited? any ideas, that is not that normal if operating correct stealth on a non-controversial first sale...

I had listed a low risk item a few months ago, which didn't sell. I let the accounts mature without listing anything and listed a few relatively high risk and one low risk, low cost item. Unfortunately, the higher priced item sold first for $60, causing the instant limitation. The item wasn't low risk, but nothing I've ever received a strike for or anyone has received one, judging by my prior research.

Obviously this forum section is not the best sample size, as only people, who've had their gp limited would write here. However, I've noticed quite a few people have had the same happen, if they received their first bigger payment in the last couple of weeks. Nobody has really explained, if this is how things are going to be from now on or it's "a spring cleaning", which would last for a few weeks.

I have heard of a 'sweep' recently in UK and USA, on various threads. More busted accounts than is usual...
It was bad luck maybe...
