Advice on new account

Hi

I'm looking for advice on how to prevent a new account being linking to my old (banned) one. I don't use eBay and I'm only concerned about buying with my PayPal account, not selling.

I have a separate bank account that I haven't used before, which is registered to a different address. So the only details that would be the same as before are my name and DOB. Would this be enough for them to link the new account with the old one?

I'm guessing two people with the same name and DOB could easily be a coincidence, so not enough to be a red flag, but I'm wondering what the experience of other users here is.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide any advice.

Follow proper techniques in the stealth guide to keep your accounts separate. PayPal doesn't link based on name alone, but they will if you re-use other details. Both name and DOB being the same might work, but many other things could link you to the old PP if you are not careful.

If you only plan to use that account to buy and not sell, the risk level in PP's eyes is decreased. Even so, you should never use the same IP or login from the computer as the banned acct anyway. Obviously use brand new bank acct or cc never used with PP before on a new address for your purchases.

Thanks for the advice – that's basically what I needed to know. I saw the guide but it seemed more tailored to sellers/eBay users.

If I use a VPN and clear the cookies, can they still tell it's the same computer? If so, are there any other ways of disguising the identity of the computer I'm logging in from?

Welcome to the forums.

What kind of VPN? Free, potentially-overused one? Not a good choice.

Clearing the cookies isn't necessarily enough - you can use a new user account.

The stealth guide works for making unlinked pp accounts as well as eb accounts (even if you do not need eb accounts).

All the best as you master stealth :thumb:

DOB and NAME can be a big link especially if you use the same ISP for example.
If you are new to this..better format all your hardrive and reinstall a fresh copy of windows also.

NAME + ZIP CODE can also link you ...
