Can I link my Paypal accounts by similar transactions?
 

Okay, so I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, but I need some insight. If I constantly make purchases from the same Shopify or Etsy shop with different accounts, will I get linked? If so, would purchasing from other shops sort of camouflage it? Lol. Any advice would be greatly appreciated- thanks!

if they don't have huge volume then yes, most likely.

Just to clarify, in the simplest form, PayPal is looking for patterns; repetition, sequence, duplication, or other "linking factors".

You can be sure their fraud detection algorithm is looking for repetition. Again, any type of behavior that could link you with some other account(s). It's common sense that doing the same things over and over again may bring attention to this type of behavior over the longer term, but again, depends on many factors.

What PayPal considers "normal" and "routine" is somewhat of a mystery. Clearly they will consider some type of transactions more risky than others. Fraud detection is ever evolving, esp. with AI and Machine Learning that would also play a role in that.
