PAYPAL 1099-K & W-9 form
 

I received email from pp as below;

"As you receive payments for goods or services through PayPal, we submit a tax Form 1099-K as required by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS), when the payments you receive meet the reporting thresholds set by the IRS. The Name and Tax Identification Number (TIN) we have on file was used for Form 1099-K reporting for tax year 2016. However, this information doesn’t appear to match the information on file with the IRS.

To correct this, please follow these steps:
1. Download U.S. IRS tax form W-9 here, fully complete, and sign the form
2. Login to your PayPal account
3. Go to the Resolution Center to upload the tax form W-9."

I have stealth account. how to deal with this? Please help.

Did you go beyond the $20.000 / 200 items?

There was a thread that has this exact topic, I'm trying to look for it for you but I don't see it. I suggest you look for it too.

Btw, have you had the chance to read the ebay stealth yet?

Got the same email a few days ago. Will submit the w9 with all the correct info
Account is 5 years old... Perfect account. Taxes paid in 2014 and 2015 and those 1099k s were fine. No info has changed.

Yes, I received the same email about half a year ago too. But as far as I know, the legal incomes bar you should fill W-9 is $500 and above, but I made something about 200 that year (it was a quiet year for sure). But also I know that you would rather not to mess with these documents if they're requested, and you can fill them easily on the websites like this https://w9.pdffiller.com furthermore. Even if you have stealth account, there's no such a big deal about that actually
