Payment gateways general information

Do payment gateways see refunds as red flags?

I know paypal got lot of refunds but wasn't as much as the funds coming in. Ratio was quite low. But I think it played a part on the limited process.

But it was more due to item not being received but it did get their just was slower then normal epacket service.

Anyways, my shops have way to capture payment instead of funds being charged automatically and able to capture the payment by clicking on the button which comes in handy if item is out of stock (then i don't charge the customer).

I think this will prevent red flags as one of my shops I do this while other shop I have the payment go through and have to eventually refund if item is out of stock (which seems like it brings red flags or something).

But worst is when a customer will call their bank and have them contact your bank and that's a clear red flag.

So best is to get on top of things before that happens.

Payment gateways see refunds as red flags - there is usually a low % threshold allowed. AND it has to do with account longetivity too. These payment gateways are always on the lookout to protect themselves from fraud.

So my method of capturing payment is pretty safe right? I run two shops where one shop doesn't have much stock issue so i get the payment and send the goods.

The other shop, I do run into stock issues but have a "capture payment" button where i gather/charge the payment only if I know it's in stock. The ones that aren't in stock, it will expire on it's one and eventually as if no charge occured. Might show pending on customer's cc account but will eventually either disappear or get reversed (not sure how that works)

But thinking i should have both shops as "capture payment" method
