paypal check question

I have an issue with one of my paypals,

i called multiple times to paypal customer service reps and they all gave me a run around that they need me to answer public database questions before adding a bank account. (US Paypal Account)

I was wondering, if I get the check sent out to me btw the check amount would be $11k.

Can I do a mobile check deposit or ATM into my Bank of America business account without raising suspicion? My accounts are aged about 4 months now.

I like BoA - i have routinely deposit stealth name checks with them.

11k should be fine but recommend you don't withdraw all at one - building good relationship with the bank.

I think max mobile deposit was 5k or 10k so you will like only be able to deposit at ATM

I can also couch for Wells Fargo. They really don't care much who's name is on the checks as long as it clears your account. Then again, all my accounts are business and I am routinly able to make mobile/ATM deposits of 3rd party checks without any issues.

If you can, best to keep the amounts to 5-10k per check as to avoid manual review processing.

Nice input for Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo closed the accounts of another stealther. There were thousands in the accounts.

I would counter rsot’s review here.

did you ever deposit a 3rd party check mismatch name through mobile app/atm deposit that was above 10k and caused a manual review?

I dont exactly have a choice here, unless i decide to draft 2 separate checks one for 10k and one for 1k against the account numbers on the check LOL. wishful thinking

As a matter of interest, have you even confirmed with paypal you will get the monies owed?

Just something not right.

Any deposit over 10k is automatically flagged for manual review because it has to be reported.

I know you're in a tight spot but I would be terrified to try that. :mod:

Re: paypal check question

Well, I was told they can send a check for the 11.3k. really? any deposit whether cash or check or ACH/WIRE over 10k would cause a manual review?!

I don't have any better ideas......other than maybe creating 4 separate checks with 5k on it against the account numbers on the check and maybe print my business name on the pay to the order line.

or get the check endorse it over to my business on the back of the check and print on the front of the check my business name on the pay to order line with the stealth name......It would make it look non-suspicious but if they are doing manual reviews into my account transactions it could be bad.

you can create a new check in your name for the identical amount, then deposit it.

Re: paypal check question

Make sure the address you are sending it to is not a Post office address. Paypal will stop the check if they determine the address is a postal address.

The amount is reportable by the banks.

Yankee has mentioned changing the names on checks multiple times over the years.

Wish I knew how to do that when a school mailed a $13k financial aid refund check to a former occupant of the apartment I used to live in.

Re: paypal check question

I personally have never created a paper check for more than my mobile deposit limits. like $5000 or $2500 or whatever your bank allows on your phone app.

Paper checks are super simple. To make high quality checks to deposit as a branch, some software and some special magnetic ink is required to be as if you purchased checks.

Also, if the checks are high enough value, you can have a company print the checks....it is not expensive...

Re: paypal check question

yeah i have blank check stock paper from office depot and a laserjet printer i guess all i need is the MiCR toner and i already have the software so yeah i can do it.

i was thinking of making 2 checks to split the 11.3k in half to not draw suspicion to the bank for manual review?

because at the end when you think about it the check just draws from the account number......will it not draw properly if i was to deposit two checks?

Or do i have to deposit it for the full amount from 1 check?

Re: paypal check question

I guess that is a really good question.

If the check total is not right, then maybe paypal can call back the funds for fraud. No idea really.

H4ck 02-26-2018 01:25 PM

Re: paypal check question

i dont see how its any different then a guy with a checkbook that writes checks to draw money from his account when paying other people.......its only a problem if the guy whos writing the checks sees something drawn on his account that he didn't authorize.

in this scenario,

i own the stealth account.......so as long as i don't say anything why would paypal sniff around.....if i were to deposit two checks splitting the 11.3k in half.

Re: paypal check question
