Permanent limitation

So I finally received the dreaded email these clowns have gone and done it again
Dear X,
After reviewing your PayPal account, we've determined there to be excessive risk involved in doing business with you and we'd like to begin parting ways in a manner that is least disruptive to your business.

If there is any money in your account balance, it will be held for 180 days (from the date of the last payment you received) to cover any disputes that might be opened by your buyers.

After 180 days, we may ask you to provide us with a proof of identity and a proof of address before you can withdraw any remaining balance.

If there are outstanding buyer complaints open against you, you can refund your customers via the Resolution Centre in your PayPal account.

We reserve the right to close any account reported to be involved in possible high-risk behaviour. In the event of a dispute, we'll try to recover the money from you by debiting your PayPal balance first and, if there are insufficient funds in your PayPal balance, we reserve the right to collect your debt to PayPal by any other legal means.

We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter and regret any inconvenience it may cause you.

Yours sincerely,
PayPal

I have only sold a handful of DVD’s I uploaded ID documents and they came back with that. I always provided tracking and never had a dispute can anyone explain what is meant by ‘excessive risk’ I have never been closed before like this selling DVD’s

Thanks

Excessive risk to PayPal could mean anything. In this case I don't think they liked your docs.

Hopefully, you didn't hold much money in the account. Move on. Create more accounts :thumb:

I'm in shock that people still buy dvds…

Anyway, it does sound like your account was flagged for some reason, then they maybe didn't like what you provided. Its pretty common especially if the account is new.

Kind of a side story, but one of the reasons why I ventured into stealth is because of something like this happened. I was selling stuff on ebay from around my house, stuff that i had bought over my lifetime and one was a cloth patch for the University of Notre Dame for like $3. Well apparently I was not a licensed University of Notre Dame reseller and they started to give me all sorts of threats over a $3 patch that I had bought who knows when and was trying to sell on ebay. It was not like I printed up 500 of those patches and tried selling them. I had bought this when I visited the university. That is when I decided I don't need this headache if it will affect my real accounts. Sometimes there may be people complaining behind your back and they have more sway than you. Create more accounts.

Had about 170 quid in the account fortunately its only an inconvenience and i never put more than i can afford to be tied up in the account it was a mix of DVD's and used ps4 games i should add

I assume it was due to the docs although they were very HQ and the seller i got them off has helped me pass many times.

Paypals document observing in the UK seems alot stricter and also Q4 they like to limit people around this time of year

Thanks all for your responses

==================

That statement above really piss me off. They just have the nerve to say that.

Honestly no matter if it's a real doc or not, they'll still boot you most likely.
