my account got restored....

honestly its pretty easy what you have to do,all the answers are here in this section, this is for my real account, not stealth...as for stealth...i'm not sure but im sure my stealth account will get hit sooner or later,in all it took about 12 days to get my account restored

i didnt email them at all, just did whatever they requested and made one phone call,so hopefully im in the clear on this account

does anyone know if they actually verify ss #'s?

GreenBean 08-28-2009 07:04 PM

'Verify SSN?' Oh yes, oh yes. If the number does not match the name there will be a problem.

Well done on getting the account restored. Be careful with it now. You have seen the problems the limitation caused.

When does ebay ask for a SS #?

GreenBean 08-28-2009 11:27 PM

^^^Whenever they want to ask: there is no hard & safe rule. They may ask the first time when the account is being checked or later. Asking for this will depend on what is happening with the account itself. Forewarned is forearmed :peace:

Paypal will ask for the SS# whenever they wish and as often as they wish. They do confirm it against a database, so if you use a number that does not match or you use a number that is not yet in the database, you will have trouble.

SS# is the most likely piece of information to cause a user difficulty, which is why PP asks for it from time to time. Shooting in the dark, hoping to hit on something, that's all.

There are ways to beat it though. Congrats to getting your account back. It feels good doesnt it?

12 days seems like an awful long time. A sellers average is 3-4 days.

There are ways to beat it, certainly. My current recovery time is under 1 hour. So it definitely can be surmounted.
