What's the fastest time you have been able to use an EIN?

So I got the soft limitation from paypal about requesting tax info as I have made about $18k this year. I have finished registering my LLC and I just obtained the EIN today. Do you ALWAYS have to wait 2 weeks to be able use the EIN to upgrade to business or in some cases, can you use it the same day? It's the holiday season so every day counts.
