Paypal requests a photo ID on a business account
 

One of my stealth business accounts was temporary limited. Paypal requests the following:

1. Upload a photo ID
2. Provide proof of fulfillment (for several transactions)

The account was upgraded from personal to business account and after some time Paypal asked to confirm the taxpayer status. I did that by providing the requested documents and everything was in order until now.

How can they request a photo ID if the account is business, LLC partnership?
Which ID should I upload?
Any suggestions please or any advice from someone in the same situation?

SO you have photo id,what are you selling

There is still the original name of the person who opened the account so Id think that would be the ID to upload. you can always call in to confirm this.

If they are asking for proof of fulfillment you must be selling downloads or similar as physical goods have tracking attached. Perhaps this is why you are flagged?

I had same issue . One of my account got under verification . The account was new when I tried to transfer money a low amount they asked for everything. But, when I did submit everything . It failed verification for some reason.

Yes, you are right, the account was upgraded from personal account, and paypal still has the name of the person who opened the account.
What will happen if that person is no longer member of the LLC? And there are 5 other people each with 20% of the ownership?
Is this similar to when they ask for the info about the beneficial owner.
There is no beneficial owner who holds 25% or more equity ownership of the business.

The goods sold are irrelevant (digital goods in my case), I wanted to know why is Paypal asking for a personal ID on a business account.

Digital goods are always risky and even if you provided what is needed, there is a good chance you won't be reinstated - just saying this outside your original question.

The LLC issue and original person not being a member is problematic - you should follow slokor's advice on this

You can be technical all you want but PayPal security system wants an ID. The best option is upload one and have a person review it over the phone and remove the limitation.

Problem is they can run that number threw verification metrics. That is why these limitations can be difficult to pass

Hi
you should upload ID of the person who opened the account. However, if we suppose that this person does not belong anymore to the company board, call them, explain that situation and they will let you upload an other ID.

proof of fulfillment: depending on the service/good you sold, it can be invoice, email, tracking etc..

OP is selling digital goods,no tracking and possibly no vendor invoice.
as for photo ID,they are using AI to recognise the person in the photo.
Photo ID is better than no photo,like passport,driver license.

I got a same problem with paypal (actually not my name) personal account when I tried to send £160 personal payment to someone. I received this email and were then able to upload ID docs, please verify your identity to lift sending limits, then i sent ID which is approved but they are asking proof of address, unfortunately don't have any address proofs under his name,
Any input is highly appreciated....

That would not work. They need the ID and always need information from the person thats name is on the account.

If you do that they will hard limit it. If there was a business owned by 5 people they are supposed to be added to the paypal account to gain access. Just like if you call in you cannot use a different name that is not on the account, would never work.

They will use AI to remember the photo so next time they ask for a photo,it better be similar or the same

That's why it's always nice to have a specific server dedicated to one account, all the information is right there. I am over the firefox portable experiment. :)

Aside from the fact OP was selling digital goods, what are some solutions to solve the Proof of Address and/or Proof of Identity issue once it arises?

I'm in the process of creating my first stealth account and want to know how to hedge myself best I can by being prepared and knowing how to resolve the issue once it does arise.

Only way to resolve the issue is to have the information ready when paypal ask for it.
