Will Paypal close my accounts down?
 

Hi,

I currently have a great working account in my maiden name and I want to open a business account in my new marriage name. I understand they will link both accounts as same birthday dates and address even if I use 2 diffrent devises and internet hotspotting? But will they cause me any issues as both accounts are in diffrent names?

In order to prevent the linking of the 2 accounts I could say my business address is my home address and act like I am 2 diffrent people but what proof do they require for a business accounts?

I would go about it would be as follows:

1. Change your name on Paypal to reflect your marital status. Substantiate any claims you make with a marriage certificate if they need to see one.

2. Open a brand new stealth account with a different name not related to you in any way.
Make sure you apply all the stealth rules prescribed on this forum and in the stealth guide as well.

Just make little changes in your address like floor or apt number they will not link

Thank you for the advise. I will follow Pandoras_box advise. I will change my account to my new name, create a business account in my own new name but start working on the stealth account. In case something goes wrong I will have a backup.

Do you know will they temporary limit my account while asking me for marriage certificate etc. Will I be able to receive money from costumers during the time?

I don't know but I'll give it to them upfront if I were you.
It is difficult to reach them now but you could send an email asking their guidance on how to go about it.
Will be hard to limit you if they're guiding you.

Thank you. Yes, I asked them 2 weeks ago to change my name. Still no reply. I now emailed them to check if I can already start to setup my business account with my new name. I think too it would not be a good idea to start this beforehand.

Really frustrating to wait so long though to get this name change done ...
